Therapists for college students near New York University
Hi all - My name is Erica and I've been a practicing clinical social worker since 2013. My approach to therapy is flexible because your needs every session may not look or sound the same every time. I'm ready to meet you where you are at. From students away from home for the first time, to adult-learners, Veterans, to musicians or doctoral-candidates, those of you looking for short-term solutions or long-term collaboration...however you identify I am committed to help. I want you to feel safe, empowered, and connected throughout your entire therapy experience. While life transitions, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal issues are my specialties, let's discuss what your needs are and how I can help. Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy reading, playing Fortnite, golfing, and spending time with my husband, our toddler, and our family and friends.

Whether you are new to therapy, or therapy is familiar to you, you deserve a space where your whole story is heard and valued. I specialize in working with people who have often felt like the odd person out— like they are navigating worlds that weren’t built for them. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone— and you’re not broken. My approach is active and collaborative because sitting and listening isn't enough to foster meaningful insight. I am interested in you & learning about the rhythms of your life. We'll talk about your sleep, stress, what and who matters to you, as well as the challenges you're facing. We'll also talk about your history and how it has informed your sense of self. You have the space to decide if we're a fit.

Substances have a way of putting us on a merry-go-round that will not stop. Substances help us regulate our mood, push out the uncomfortable, keep us walled off from our surroundings. Something happens in life, and we "want to stop", but do not know how to stop. And, we use again. If you are struggling with substances, unhappy with your life, tired of chasing the next high, ask for help. You can text or call me. Maybe it is time for you to rethink your relationship to substances.
