Therapists for college students near Temple University
I see teens and adults via telehealth and am licensed in NJ, PA, FL, and VT. Specialties include Anxiety, Depression, School Issues, Food Allergy Anxiety, Parenting, Peer Relationships, and Stress.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy in a supportive and queer-friendly environment. I specialize in work with clients with prenatal and postpartum depression, grief, life changes, mood disorders, and substance use. I have professional experience, prior to private practice, working with young adults on an inpatient psychiatric unit and ante/postpartum parents in a hospital setting. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, drawing on mindfulness, humor, the mind-body connection, and elements of CBT and DBT, to help clients build insight and tools for their every day lives. The therapist-client relationship is an important aspect of the therapeutic dynamic in my work and I want to encourage an environment where a patient is able to speak openly and freely.
"Why now?" is a question I often ask at the beginning of therapy. Some people come in the aftermath of a personal or relationship crisis, some seek relief for old pain, others simply feel certain that its time for a change. My work is well-suited for people experiencing anger, grief, compassion fatigue, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, patterns of conflict and concerns of purpose and identity. I'm not overwhelmed by strong feelings or complex struggles. Whatever reason you may have to begin therapy, we'll work together to find the heart of the matter and what might help. My process is insight-oriented and collaborative but I'll tell you what I think. Clients have appreciated my warmth, directness and cultural competency. Some have stayed with me for years or returned after long breaks. I've had success connecting with adolescents and people who feel ambivalent about therapy. I'm deeply curious about how each of my clients experiences the world and I'll be glad to meet you. Reach out, and we can see if we might work well together.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience on staff in college counseling centers and in private practice. I work to form a trusting relationship with students so that they have a safe space to work through the challenges they are facing. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am especially focused on providing inclusive, affirming care for students whose identities may not be represented or supported as well as they could be in the available campus resources - whether that be by virtue of sexuality and gender, or other facets of life experience. If you are feeling stuck academically or socially, struggling with mood or anxiety, trying to figure out who you are and your place at school and at home - I am here to help you find your way through it.
Anxiety- it's one of the worst feelings out there and it thrives on college campuses. Maybe you're familiar? Your heart races, your chest tightens, your breathing gets stuck in your throat, and you're flooded with "what if" thoughts. It's an experience that leaves you feeling powerless over your own thoughts and emotions. That's where I come in. My name is Shaylyn Forte and I'm a therapist who specializes in helping college students overcome their anxiety. Whether you're brand new to therapy and need to learn basic skills to manage your thoughts and emotions, or you've been to therapy before and are looking to go deeper so that you can erradicate anxiety once and for all, I can help. Relief starts with a free 20 minute consultation- reach out via email to get set up. I'm looking forward to learning more about you and how I can help!
I'm so proud of you. Navigating the work stressors and life transitions on a daily basis. Also, you worry what others may be thinking about your ability to show up and push through. After all, you’re the “strong one”. It can be exhausting. My goal is to journey with you to learn the skills to break the patterns that keep you stuck. You don’t have to face your stressors alone.
I am a human being learning, like you, how to be here. In a world that can feel overwhelming, I offer space to slow down, understand what you are carrying, and find ways to cope that feel aligned, rooted in care, intention, and honesty. My approach to therapy is collaborative and grounded in curiosity. I support clients in exploring how their experiences shape how they feel, relate, and move through the world.

(Accepting new clients as of 6/1/26) - Classes, roommates, figuring out who you are, what you want to do with your life, and maybe even remembering to eat something green once in a while…it’s a full plate. Therapy doesn’t have to be another heavy thing on your to do list. Think of it as a place to untangle your thoughts, vent without judgment, and actually make sense of what’s going on. Whether you’re anxious, burned out, or just trying to keep your head above syllabus week, we’ll figure it out together, one honest conversation at a time. I’ve been a therapist for almost a decade and a half and worked extensively with teens and young adults. If you’ve navigating depression, anxiety, relationships or identity, let’s talk. My sessions are held via Zoom, so it’s easy to meet weekly from your laptop and start feeling better. Email or text to set up a 30min no-cost consultation call.
We all experience times of change, transition, and stress that can affect mood and anxiety. I offer an active, collaborative working relationship grounded in respect, transparency, and a deep desire to help clients heal and grow. Clients have remarked that I am particularly skilled in helping them navigate and grow through life transitions and take responsibility for and develop ways of coping and responding to life stresses that honor their multiple and intersecting identities and values, while also encouraging them to stretch, consider, and apply new perspectives and skills. I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist in a university counseling center and have extensive experience with undergraduate and graduate students. I am committed to helping people create and sustain a satisfying and purposeful life. With the intention of helping them move toward a greater sense of overall well-being, I enjoy working with clients around life transitions, career exploration, identity exploration, managing societally induced stress particularly related to marginalized identities, and those experiencing concerns related to career and work. I have extensive training and experience with mindfulness and integrate that into my therapeutic work. Beyond therapy, I provide Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction courses and mindfulness-based classes for groups. Please contact me to schedule a free, 15-minute phone conversation so we can talk more about what he's looking for, I can explain more about my practice, and we can see if it mutually feels like a good fit to take the next step and schedule an initial meeting.
The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. Do you have unresolved issues with yourself, in your relationship, or within your family? You are not alone, and you do not need to suffer. My name is Dr. Jesse Smith, and I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationships and more. I will help you heal old wounds, form secure attachments, and develop effective ways of managing your thoughts, feelings, and actions. My name is Sarah and I am a therapist, coach and community organizer. I specialize in working with activists, organizers and politically left gen individuals who struggle with burnout, overwhelm and balance. You may be struggling with self-doubt, fear about the future and compassion fatigue. I can help with that. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma associated with living under capitalism. During our first few sessions together, we will begin to bridge the gap between your pain and systematic structures that impact you deeply. You'll begin to experience yourself as part of a whole community, not just an individual. Therapy with me will be political, restorative, healing and empowering.
Keith Casey's approach to therapy is to be empathetic and encouraging. The most gratifying part of his job is when he sees someone embrace the idea that change is possible. He is trained in exposure-response and prevention therapy for OCD. He also likes to incorporate elements of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness into his work. He specializes in anxiety, OCD, depression, and LGBTQ+ issues.
There’s a lot of things for you to worry about, but I hope therapy doesn’t have to be one of them. I want to offer a space where you can work through anxiety and worries in real time with a real person who listens, understands, and helps you sort through the noise. I’m not going to sit there and hand you advice you didn’t ask for. We’ll figure things out together. What’s behind the anxiety, how is it messing with your life, and what might actually help? The goal isn’t perfection. It’s feeling a little more in control, a little more like yourself. Life’s too short to feel stuck in your own head all the time. I want to help you get out into the world. To help you connect with people who actually make you feel good and to give you a chance to discover what is really important to you. With extensive experience working with people in their 20s and 30s, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community, I’m here to support you through whatever life throws your way. Feel free to give me a call or email to discuss a consultation/scheduling. Or visit my website to learn more about what I have to offer.
