I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy for college students and young adults in the Pittsburgh area and throughout Pennsylvania via telehealth. Many of the students I work with are dealing with anxiety, academic pressure, relationship challenges, identity questions, and the stress of major life transitions. My approach to therapy is insight-oriented and collaborative. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with practical strategies drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Therapy provides a space to better understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships while developing healthier ways of responding to stress. Students often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Together we work to clarify what is happening beneath the surface, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful change in areas such as anxiety, depression, relationships, and self-confidence. I provide both in-person sessions in Carnegie, Pennsylvania and secure online therapy throughout the U.S. via PSYPACT. Prior to private practice I trained and worked full time at five counseling counseling centers in various cities.
My practice specialty is clinical psychology and neuropsychology. I perform ADD/ADHD diagnostic assessment and treatment, as well as treatment for anxiety, depression, traumatic brain injury and stress-related issues. I perform neuropsychological testing, Quantitative EEG (brain mapping) and Neurofeedback therapy.

Many college students feel stressed, anxious, or unsure how to handle everything on their own. Between classes, friendships, family expectations, and figuring out what comes next, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or stuck. Therapy gives you a space to process what you’re experiencing, understand yourself more clearly, and build coping skills that actually work in your day-to-day life. I offer virtual sessions, which makes it easier to fit therapy into your schedule wherever you are. My style is warm, supportive, and practical, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I do use a trauma modality known as EMDR which I can explain should it be a good idea for you. Also please know I am active in the sessions so that for the most part there are no long difficult silences! I am also a musician and so i work well with students or adults in the arts.

You are the person that people often describe as intelligent, resourceful, humorous, well-liked, talented; an individual that accomplishes whatever they set out to do. You strive to excel at whatever you take on & some may even call you a perfectionist. You can't seem to understand why, or how, you continue to feel stuck, overwhelmed, tense, or perhaps, even sad or hopeless. The facts suggest you possess many of the positive qualities others seem to admire, and from afar, you appear to be someone that seemingly has it all! So why do you continue to struggle in your relationships, work or interests? Why don't you feel "enough?" To wake each day with the ability to say, “I am enough” & to actually believe it...THAT would be incredible! Managing or alleviating feelings of anxiety, depression &/or self-doubt, would be a freedom you've not felt in a long time. Being able to smile more & be more vulnerable in your relationships and life choices sounds like a dream come true! As your therapist I will help you identify the factors that interfere with you becoming your best self. We will work as a team to develop life strategies that work for YOU so you can better manage it all. I offer online, video therapy via a secure, HIPAA compliant platform, to individuals in New York State. If you think we may be a good fit please contact me for a free consultation.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in a private practice setting. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Albany and completed an APA approved internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. My training emphasized a CBT orientation to treating psychological disorders. After completing my education, I was a member of the doctoral faculty in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University for almost 30 years before electing to go into private practice full time in July 2020. My experience working at a university as both a professor and program director, has helped me understand the difficulties that students face. Moreover, it has given me insider knowledge about how students can most effectively navigate the challenges that college poses and effectively advocate for themselves with their course instructors. Recently, a colleague and I formed a CBT-based private practice focused on adolescents, young adults and adults. My areas of specialization include OCD, panic and other anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, substance abuse, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (e.g. hair pulling). I conduct a comprehensive evaluation and provide all the treatment directly. Treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the client, but it typically involves a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am committed to providing the best treatment available to my clients, which may involve (at their request) a referral for psychiatric consultation, inclusion of family members, and home visits. Please visit my website at http://cbtspecialistsnj.com for more information about me and the problems I treat.

As a licensed psychologist with over 20 years in clinical practice, I have extensive training in a wide range of therapeutic modalities and draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness-baed approaches. Providing a safe and validating space for others is a value of mine. This has lead me to pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology and thus far 8 years of experience. Throughout my training and career, I've always gravitated towards the college/graduate school population. I've especially appreciated working with students on relationships, identity, and self-love. Being a South-Asian, I've also enjoyed exploring cultural/ethnic/racial identity with clients. In a therapy session my approach is inviting, warm, curious, and a grounding presence. I strongly believe clients are experts on themselves; hence my approach to therapy is empowering and encouraging clients to lean into experiences to meet their goals. I like to use the metaphor that my clients are in the driver's seat and I'm there to support them as they explore where they want to go. Along with a multicultural lens, some therapeutic orientations I often pull from are CBT, ACT, and IFS. Gift-giving is important in many cultures and hence the gift I want to give clients is hope, validation, and safety. I also strive to plant the seeds of empowerment and self-love in clients and continue to nurture that together throughout our sessions. I encourage clients to try out various exercises/skills in between sessions to continue to meet their goals. Overall I hope a client leaves our sessions feeling supported, heard, and respected.
