I’m a trauma-informed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who helps adults heal from the inside out. I specialize in working with those impacted by trauma, childhood abuse, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients arrive feeling disconnected from themselves—exhausted by survival mode, unsure how to feel safe, or burdened by past experiences they were never given space to process. I provide a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to explain everything or be “strong” all the time. Together, we’ll explore what your nervous system has been holding and begin building the safety, clarity, and emotional regulation you need to feel more grounded and whole. My approach supports the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses—because healing isn't just in the mind; it happens through the body, too. I tailor each session to you. Whether you’re navigating trauma responses, managing daily anxiety, or trying to reconnect with who you are beneath the coping strategies, we will move at your pace—not the pace of pressure or performance. My work integrates evidence-based practices with deep compassion and curiosity. I offer therapy online only, serving adults in Texas and Hawai‘i, with appointments available Monday through Thursday.

My approach focuses on helping students build emotional resilience, strengthen self-awareness, and develop practical tools that support both personal and academic success. I’m honored to partner with Thriving Camp to help students feel grounded, confident, and equipped to thrive far beyond their college years.

Since 2006, I have worked as a counselor in Louisiana (LPC 3780), Kansas (LCPC 2416), Virginia (LPC 0701008990), and Texas (LPC 86508). Currently, I work with adults who feel stuck whether navigating anxiety, depression, CPTSD, trauma, family challenges, identity, or major transitions. They want relief, self-understanding, hope, and healthier ways to cope. Most of all, they want to feel heard, supported, and capable of moving forward with confidence. I specialize in working with diverse clients, including military families, trauma survivors, those managing both mental health, and substance use. My humanistic, collaborative style helps you uncover strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools. Together, we’ll create space for healing and real change. I know reaching out takes courage and you don’t have to do it alone. In our work, we’ll honor your unique experiences and create a safe space to explore challenges at your pace. Hello! My name is Madeline & I specialize in ADHD, grief work, & women's issues around anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, & work-life balance. In my work with young and adult women (16+), I've found that through modeling genuine self-acceptance and self-compassion (instead of just talking about how important it is), my clients are more receptive to extending the same grace & kindness they give to others to themselves. Because I strongly emphasize authenticity in the work that I do, I show up to each session exactly as I am. Human. While I share therapeutically relevant experiences, anecdotes and thoughts often, they are always done with intention and care. I believe that it is incredibly difficult to form a meaningful connection with another person if the relationship is entirely one-sided. I've found that my approach to therapy differs in that I like to use a lot humor in sessions - both dark and light - which definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay! I am also unapologetically myself, and some days that looks a bit different than others. I'd be wasting my time and yours if I pretended to be someone I'm not or that some days weren't messy, chaotic garbage for me, too. Pretending is not conducive to connection, and I believe my approach to therapy is a testament to that fact. The therapeutic relationship is the bedrock of any therapy success story. I strive to connect to each of my clients on a deep and meaningful level by remaining authentic, genuine, and honest. I provide sincere feedback, offer many skills that can be used outside of sessions, and equip clients with the tools they need to be successful and resilient when life feels like it's just too much. While some issues may be very solution-focused and direct, others may take time. The space I offer is not only safe and nonjudgmental, it is also patient. I will sit with you in the hurt, the pain, the loss, the ache, the hopelessness, and the chaos. I will sit with you knowing that there is an end in sight, and will hold your hand as we find our way out of that darkness together.
Hi, I'm Michelle Gorden, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am currently training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Gottman Method for couples. I specialize in treating mood disorders, trauma, and PTSD. My background is diverse and supports my ability to help my clients reach their highest potential. I have worked in criminal justice, crisis stabilization, case management, and residential treatment. I am skilled in facilitating psycho-educational groups and providing intensive outpatient therapy. I strive to work collaboratively with each client in a non-judgmental space to improve overall happiness and well-being. Counseling can help you with many stressors in life such as anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, family conflict, and self-exploration. Counseling provides a safe place to take risks, be vulnerable, gain support, and become empowered to change your life. I have a laid-back style and focus on creating a safe space. My approach is pretty eclectic and my philosophy is that therapy can’t be one-size-fits-all. Treatments should be customized to each individual client, couple, or family. If you are ready to start your journey, please fill out our intake form and request to work with me.
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained? You’re not broken — your nervous system may just be overloaded. I offer LENS neurofeedback therapy which is a type of therapy that takes no effort from client and offers fast results! If you feel traditional talk therapy has not worked for you this might be the solution. LENS neurofeedback is a gentle therapy that supports your brain in releasing stress patterns and restoring balance. It can help with anxiety, mood challenges, focus difficulties, trauma responses, and feeling emotionally “numb” or reactive. If you’re a college student who feels exhausted all the time, overwhelmed by expectations, or trapped in perfectionism, I see you. You might look “high-functioning” on the outside — good grades, leadership roles, internships — but internally feel anxious, depleted, and afraid of falling behind. I specialize in helping students navigate burnout, chronic stress, academic pressure, and the fear of not being good enough. In our work together, we focus on reducing anxiety, shifting perfectionistic patterns, building emotional resilience, and helping you create rhythms that support both achievement and well-being. Success doesn’t have to cost your mental health!
Are you a queer, BIPOC, or neurodivergent person struggling with relentless self-criticism? It might feel like you can’t stop beating yourself up and feeling like you’re not good enough, no matter how hard you try. This self-doubt can be reinforced by others treating you differently and the systemic oppression which is present in so many aspects of our world today. If you’re ready to escape from a shame spiral, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome! My name is Sajl, and I’m a nonbinary and South Asian therapist based in Frisco, TX. I work with motivated and insightful teens and adults via telehealth to liberate themselves from self-hatred. My goal is to provide you with an affirming, compassionate, and honest therapeutic space in which you are free to explore and understand where these beliefs stem from. Together, we’ll get to the root cause of your pain and help you develop a kinder and gentler inner voice. As a young queer person of color, I know what it’s like to be unsure of whether aspects of my identity will be accepted in new spaces. Rest assured, every aspect of what makes you who you are is invited when we share space together. My therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, identity-affirming, and liberation-centered. I incorporate aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy, relational cultural therapy, and attachment theory to help you understand and face your pain with courage and compassion. If you’re ready to release the burden of the pain you’ve been carrying, I would be honored to lighten your load and walk alongside you in the path towards healing.
**Some Insurance Accepted in NC through Headway** I practice via telehealth in NY, NC, WA, and TX. I specialize in working with adult men and women who are secretly miserable. You may look fine on the outside, but inside you're struggling to get your own needs met, codependency, perfectionism, and shame. Gestalt Therapy goes beyond looking at just the cognitive, linear perspectives of the person. It demands of the therapist an awareness of the body and how it manifests in the psyche. Through its focus on process rather than content, the patient gains an experiential awareness of how they do what they do and new choices emerge spontaneously. The radical focus on process in the creative therapy of Gestalt keeps the work alive and full of possibility for both the patient and my work as a therapist. Melissa Bennett-Heinz obtained her master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University (Class of 2002) and is a graduate of Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City, NY. In addition to her background in Gestalt Therapy, she obtained her bachelor's and master’s degrees from the esteemed conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, in New York City where she majored in Oboe Performance. Melissa completed cognitive behavioral studies under the tutelage of Dr. William Sanderson. She is a licensed clinical social worker in NY, WA, NC, and TX and has over twenty years of specialized training and experience in PTSD, childhood abuse, mood and anxiety disorders. Melissa brings her background as a classical musician and deep spirituality together in her unique approach in Gestalt's creative and experiential therapy.
My therapeutic approach centers on the holistic well-being of individuals, with a particular focus on working with millennial female clients. My aim is to facilitate, through a strengths-based approach, your therapeutic journey towards enhanced well-being and deeper insight into your thoughts and behaviors (as well as understanding the roots of our cognitive and behavioral patterns). While my therapeutic toolbox encompasses Reiki, EMDR, IFS, and mindfulness techniques, I customize therapy sessions to suit each individual, allowing for flexibility beyond these established frameworks. I'm licensed in CO, TX, MT, OR, ID, WY, WA, and FL.

Welcome to the beginning of your therapeutic journey. My name is Alexandra Gomez but you can call me Alex! I am a Latina LPC-Associate who is bilingual in Spanish and English. As humans, we are constantly challenged by the imperfections and expectations of society. It can be confusing, discouraging, and at times can dim the light within us. Investing in ourselves is the best way to overcome these challenges and learn more about our thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, and values. Whether you are beginning or continuing services, I am so glad you have made this decision to invest in yourself and grow in multiple aspects of the human experience. I hope that you find my bio to be a good fit for your therapeutic needs.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Texas who works with young, middle-aged, and senior adults who struggle with anxiety and depression. I studied at Lubbock Christian University to earn a master's in clinical mental health counseling and at Lamar University to earn a master's in education administration. I have experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy, and have been practicing as an LPC for four years.
Perhaps one of the hardest decisions in life is to seek help. You are used to handling everything yourself, but you don’t have to do this alone. We all encounter challenges and/or disadvantages at one point in life, and it is easy to feel discouraged and criticize yourself in this process. Although these difficulties can affect you in profound and painful ways, I believe that they are also opportunities to learn about yourself—acknowledge what is not working and find what will work. This journey is quite exhausting for one person, so I aim to become a part of your support system. As a counselor, I hope to empower each individual to make personal choices that will allow them to discover confidence, direction, happiness, peace, and healing. My role as a therapist is to, first and foremost, create a safe space for your stories to be heard and understood. I will listen to your experiences with compassion, warmth, curiosity, hope, respect, and trust. I believe in genuineness and transparency in the therapeutic relationship, so I will communicate directly yet gently. I offer a collaborative and individualized therapeutic process that allows you to accomplish your goals. In other words, my approach to counseling varies based on what is the best fit for each client. I use creative methods to increase self-awareness and self-reflection (e.g. mindfulness, writing, drawing, music, poetry, activities) because I believe each person has a unique medium of expression. Your commitment to change is also monumental in this process because you are the expert on your life. I will be there as a guide to help you uncover your true potential. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. I work with older adolescent and adult individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, interpersonal/relationship issues, OCD, ADHD, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ related issues, transition and change, anger management, stress management and self-care, social justice issues, and low self-confidence. As an Asian American woman, I celebrate diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds.
