Therapists for college students near Temple University
🎓 You Don’t Have to Figure It All Out Alone College can be exciting—but also overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes lonely. If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, unsure of who you are, or just stuck, you’re not the only one—and you don’t have to go it alone. 💬 What We Talk About Students I work with often share: Academic and social anxiety Burnout and perfectionism Identity questions around gender, culture, or sexuality Family and relationship struggles That lingering “What’s wrong with me?” feeling 🌱 What to Expect I keep things warm, open, and straightforward—no psychobabble. We’ll move at your pace, and talk about what matters most to you. This space is about feeling heard, not judged. ✨ Why You Might Feel at Home Here You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If you’re thoughtful, curious, or just tired of keeping it all in—this could be the support you’ve been looking for.
Therapy should provide a safe space free from judgment where you can seek support, be genuine, feel heard and grow into the person you want to be. In sessions, we will work together to identify your unique abilities, strengths and successes. We will explore how to use those strengths and abilities to process past events, feel better, achieve your goals and live a life that feels meaningful to you. My integrative approach is strengths based and person centered with elements of evidence based approaches including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and EMDR. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, teens and young adults who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, depression, parenting issues, life transitions, effects of trauma and relationship struggles. I am trained in EMDR via EMDR Consulting, an EMDR International Association Approved Training Provider. I look forward to meeting with you!

Same or next week availability! Welcome, I'm Dr Amy O'Donnell. I'm not here to fix you. Because you aren't broken. I believe everyone naturally has the capacity for healing. Together we learn how that looks for you. I help you incorporate natural approaches into your mental health care to create lasting change in mood, stress and sense of purpose. I’m an integrative psychiatrist. I think of my practice as like a one-stop-shop as services that are normally diluted among different providers get streamlined into one place - psychodynamic psychotherapy, medication management, and holistic approaches like nutrition, supplements and botanicals. While I can help with many concerns, my main areas of focus include new and expectant moms, medication de-prescribing and navigating high stress or low mood. We dig deeper to build insight into your whole person, address root causes and establish a resilient foundation so you face life’s challenges with increasing confidence and balance. I’ll be honest; creating lasting change will be challenging and uncomfortable at times. It will require commitment. My promise to you is that you won’t be alone on this journey. If you think we might be a good fit, please check out my website www.naturesflowpsych.com and schedule a free 15-minutes introductory call. I look forward to connecting with you.

A racing heart, exhaustion, or trouble eating or sleeping? Disturbing memories that recur? Life may feel overwhelming, but greater peace is possible, and I'd be glad to help you get there. With specialized training in treating anxiety, grief, and trauma, my goal is to empower you so you can get back to feeling more like yourself. The thought of opening up about your struggles to someone new can feel scary, and I get it. I provide a comfortable, supportive, judgment-free space where you can be who you really are, begin to see your life in new ways, and move towards being the person you want to become.
College can be rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're adjusting to campus life, feeling stressed or burned out, struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating concerns, dissociation, low self-worth, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to navigate it alone. At Sacred Forest Counseling, I strive to provide an unconditionally accepting space where you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you. I also offer a unique nature-informed approach to counseling for students who find healing and clarity through connecting with nature. From my experience and current research from the EcoPsychology field, it can be said that healing often happens when we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and draw wisdom from the natural world. Whether we meet outdoors or virtually, therapy is always tailored to your individual needs and goals. I have experience working with undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students and understand the unique pressures that can come with balancing academics, relationships, work, and personal well-being. If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, I'd love to connect. Reach out today to see if Sacred Forest Counseling is the right place to support your journey.
Hi! I’m Tori I’ve been working in the mental health field for 10 years, gaining experience in a variety of settings, and I’ve found my passion in helping adolescents, young adults, and adults navigate the ups and downs of life. This time in life is full of growth, change, and self-discovery—exciting, but also intimidating. I love supporting my clients through managing anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal challenges, and helping them build the skills to thrive. I take a laid-back approach to therapy, aiming to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. Humor is a big part of my style—life is tough enough, so I believe therapy should have some light moments. That said, I know when to be serious, and I’ll be right there with you as we work through whatever’s on your mind. I’m here for people from all walks of life, and I’m a strong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach combines Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you develop practical tools for managing emotions, improving relationships, and making real, lasting changes in your life. In our work together, you’ll gain valuable insight into your thought patterns, learn skills to cope with stress, and build the resilience to live more authentically and mindfully. Outside of therapy, you’ll probably find me spending time with loved ones, catching concerts, watching horror movies, or taking walks. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey to greater well-being. Reach out if you’d like to learn more or get started!

Hi, I’m Shannon Mick, NCC, LPC, founder of Finish Stronger Counseling. I provide compassionate virtual therapy to adults across Pennsylvania who are ready to overcome anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders—especially endurance runners and athletes who want to feel strong in both mind and body. As a semi-professional ultramarathoner and assistant running coach myself, I truly understand the unique mental challenges that come with the sport: DNFs, DNSs, injury recovery, training balance, body image, and the relentless drive to push your limits. My holistic, movement-informed approach blends evidence-based therapy with real-world strategies that honor the mind-body connection athletes live every day. Using CBT, DBT, and ACT, I help clients address root causes, build resilience, and develop the mindset tools they need to cross every finish line—on the trail and in life. Whether you’re navigating performance anxiety, rebuilding after a setback, or simply wanting to feel like yourself again, my goal is simple: help you finish stronger. I offer a free 10–15 minute phone consult so we can see if we’re the right fit. An email is okay, too. Let’s get started—your next strong chapter is waiting. Guessing your way through life is stressful. I work with college students who are realizing that there's a lot of things that they weren't taught in school and are ready to take control of their future. Now that you have more freedom and choice, you also have to figure out what to do with it. Who are you? Who do you want to be? What do you want to do with your life? How do you get there? If you're starting out college, you might be trying to get yourself into a routine, make new friends, navigate the campus dating scene, decide on a major, or handle the stress of midterms/finals. Maybe you're past that part of your college experience, but you still haven't found a good solution to those problems: still putting off studying, dealing with friend drama, having ups and downs with dating, etc. And if you're getting towards the end of your college experience, you might be worried out about what you're going to do after college and what that will look like. You don't need to figure all that out on your own. I help people get to the root of their problems so that they can understand themselves and others better. If you can understand your past and unlearn things that aren't helping you anymore, then you can replace them with healthy ways to move forward with confidence.
My practice supports students coping with the many challenges of adjustment to college life. I aim to help students achieve their academic/professional and social goals, while remaining true to their identities and interests. Through therapy, I help my clients understand that achievement does not mean sacrificing who you are. Together we focus on clarifying personal goals, identity development, and adjustment to new freedoms and environments. I have special interest in working with first generation, racially/ethnically diverse, LGBTQ+, and immigrant students.
Of all the relationships we have in our lives, I believe that the one you have with yourself is the most important and impactful. Therapy allows a person to create an authentic relationship with oneself. Through the therapeutic process, a person is able to find and access their own innate ability to heal and grow within a supportive, compassionate, and empowering environment. My passion for this work comes from seeing my clients evolve to feel happier and healthier in their daily lives. What I do: Individual Psychotherapy- I provide both in-person and telehealth treatment for teenagers, young adults, and adults, focusing a wide array of concerns including: life transitions, traumatic life experiences, daily functioning impairment, anxiety, and depression Gender and Sexuality Affirming Mental Health Care- I provide a safe space for those of you within the LGBTQIA+ community to process concerns unique to your own lived experiences Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)- EMDR is a research-backed treatment developed to help you heal following traumatic events by processing memories and gaining control over the way the trauma history impacts the mind and body. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- CBT is used to help you understand and learn skills to challenge unhelpful or maladaptive thinking and behavioral patterns Mindfulness- Mindfulness techniques are used to teach you how to relate to your thoughts differently and to live in the moment
Mental health challenges can impact your overall wellness and get in the way of attending class, completing assignments, or taking care of yourself. If you are feeling emotionally unwell and struggling to cope with life’s difficulties, attending therapy can offer you support and guidance during these challenging times. Our experienced therapists offer individual counseling services that allows privacy and confidentiality to talk about you, what’s troubling you, and how to make a sustainable change. We value helping to create a culture that normalizes discussion of, and support for, mental health being an integral part of overall wellness. To assist with decreasing barriers to care, sessions are offered as in person appointments or virtually via telehealth. Our therapists incorporate enthusiasm, humor, and creativity to help provide the support you need to reach and exceed your mental health goals. We believe therapy is not only a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings but also a thriving environment to learn effective strategies to grow into your best self.
On our journey it can be helpful to have someone to help us see the narratives that often define our lives. Some of those narratives keep us from experiencing what we want for ourselves now and in the future. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2010, I have been working as a therapist with people in various stages of life. A relationship between a therapist and client can provide someone with a deep reflection of how they live and are experienced. I believe therapy can give us the opportunity to rediscover our story in a new way. Real change is possible and the therapeutic relationship is one of the ways to cultivate that change. Areas of experience and interests: ADHD, adults, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family of origin concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, mother abandonment, parenting, sexuality, sexual and physical trauma, trauma recovery Fee: I offer a sliding scale fee Insurances Accepted: United Healthcare, UPMC, Cigna, Highmark Therapeutic Style: Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Family Systems Contact Autumn directly at 412-606-1887 or autumnkrusebrownlee@gmail.com
