"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If not now, when?" -Hillel Are you struggling with anxiety or depression related to school, parenting or postpartum, employment, retirement, a relationship, family or a major life transition? Have you had difficulty managing relationships with those around you due to anxiety or depression? Maybe you have struggled with these feelings for a long period of time and you haven't figured out how to address them. Perhaps these unnerving feelings came on suddenly and you are not sure how to cope with the discomfort. I aim to help clients recognize their unhelpful negative thoughts and manage them with in-the-moment techniques. We can work to identify and tackle them together. Having worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years, my expertise lies in confidence, self worth and self esteem skill building, anxiety and stress management and support with life transitions. Treatment may include but is not limited to strengths based therapy, solution focused therapy, executive functioning management, exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I tailor it to what it is that you need throughout our work together. We make things practical. *I offer in person and virtual therapy. If you have ADHD, you might feel like typical strategies just don’t work. That can be incredibly frustrating leading to more arguments, more stress, and a growing sense of overwhelm or uncertainty about the future. You may have already tried working with other providers and felt like nothing really changed. You’re looking for someone who truly understands ADHD, someone who can offer strategies that actually stick, while also holding you accountable in a supportive way. Managing ADHD is tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. I can help make the process easier. With specialized training from top ADHD clinics, I bring evidence-based strategies to help you better understand ADHD and build practical skills that support your well-being. My approach is goal-oriented and backed by research designed to give you clear, measurable progress over weeks not years. Therapy doesn’t have to be a long-term commitment. From the very beginning, we’ll work together to set clear goals and a plan to reach them. My priority is helping you gain the tools you need to thrive. And if you’re on the fence about starting, schedule a free consultation call to ensure it’s the right fit.
Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or depression, I’m glad you’re here seeking support. Rather than focusing on happiness as a fixed goal, I help clients explore what fulfillment means in the context of their lives. Fulfillment allows space for the full range of emotional experiences supports a more honest, grounded way of engaging with yourself and the world. ClinicalApproach I bring a systems-oriented lens to our work together, considering how our early relationships and life experiences shape our current sense of self, the way we connect with others, and how we move through the world. My integrative approach draws from several evidence-based modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) But above all, I'm client-centered. I've seen what happens when therapy gets too rigid or robotic, when the humanity of it gets lost. That’s not what you’ll get with me. I’ll use evidence-based methods and also meet you with honesty, care, and a good sense of when to push and when to pause.
Although we cannot change our past, we can acknowledge its impact. We can change how we view our past and ourselves. While working with clients, I encourage expression to gain self-awareness and to reshape narratives. Expression is essential in everyday life, especially when working through difficult times, such as grief and trauma. I practice therapy with a person-centered, trauma-informed, strength based approach to meet clients where they are and to help them make changes to start the healing process. For some clients, verbal expression can be difficult. Creative expression can demonstrate one’s thoughts and feelings in a tangible way. Art Therapy can be helpful in exploring one’s thoughts and feelings and fostering self-awareness. As an Art Therapist, I have the ability and knowledge to bring artmaking into the therapy session and to help facilitate the healing process. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC). I have many years of experience helping people with trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, body image, self-esteem, and addiction. I have experience practicing therapeutic techniques of Trauma Informed Care, CBT, DBT, and MI, as well as Crisis Intervention. I am available for in person sessions, as well as telehealth/virtual sessions.

Abra “Abby” McClure Kuniak holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) from Chatham University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA), Greater Pittsburgh Counseling Association (GPCA) and Pennsylvania Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (PS-SAIGE). She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and geriatrics. Abby has worked in a variety of different therapeutic areas including inpatient and outpatient neuropsychiatric assessment, outpatient community mental health, crisis intervention, in home services such as Wraparound BHRS and Family Based, the school setting, and private practice. Abby is an eclectic therapist that utilizes a person centered, and strength-based form of therapy derived from the Family Systems Model, as well as concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques. Her clinical experience has allowed her to focus on diverse needs including trauma, substance abuse/dual diagnosis, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, gender issues, sexual identity issues, LGBTQIA, grief and loss, sexual abuse and victimization, patterns of codependency, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, family conflict, Geek and Gaming Culture, life transitions, parenting, and pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum/infertility. Abby has taken trainings to support the transgender community with transitioning. Abby has specific training in QPR (Question Persuade Refer) including having completed the train-the-trainer component as a QPR Gatekeeper, CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management), and DCORT (Disaster Crisis Outreach and Refer Team). During her time spent as the Team Lead (assistant manager) of a Pennsylvania county crisis intervention program, she was also on the county’s DCORT team. All of these certifications are designed to help mental health professionals respond within the community to reduce the rate of suicide and trauma symptoms associated with impactful events. Abby is currently part of Westmoreland County’s Suicide Task Force, Ray of Hope, and the county L.O.S.S. Team. She is also a board member of Metamorphosis Begins. Abby utilizes evidence-based approaches to help clients to achieve their goals. She believes that individuals are the experts in their lives, but sometimes get “stuck” and need help “getting out”. Abby works with her clients to help them to access their strengths and develop approaches that are centered on their personal objectives. Through this approach, the client is able to build their “toolbox” by gaining “tools”, or skills, to help them move forward with the healthy life they desire.
Many of the clients I see are dealing with some form of anxiety, depression, adjustment-related issue, or life transition. Most often, my clients are young adults who are having problems in interpersonal relationships, such as feeling extremely anxious in social situations, having difficulty finding or maintaining healthy relationships, struggling to communicate effectively with others, or experiencing uncertainty what their wants and needs are in a relationship. I have a great deal of experience working with students. My internship and postdoc were both in a university counseling center, and afterward, I was a psychology professor for a number of years. In these roles, I worked with both undergraduate and graduate students. Therefore, I'm very familiar with the challenges that students can face. Whatever it is that is getting in the way, I can help! I utilize evidence-based approaches and methods that have been proven to work. However, because there is no single approach that works for every person across all situations, I practice in a way that will be responsive to your unique needs. We may work on identifying problematic thoughts, putting new behaviors into action, or learning how to better identify, express, and manage your emotions. If your concern is relationship-related, we will explore your relationship patterns, identify factors that are having a negative impact on your relationships, and help you develop the skills to find and maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships. Regardless of the specifics, I place a prime emphasis on providing a safe, supportive environment that is free from judgment. My style has been described as highly collaborative.
Lime Counseling is passionate about providing an accepting, welcoming, and supportive space for you to be able to talk through whatever stressor is troubling you at this time. The practice focuses on anxiety, OCD, trauma, abuse, life adjustments, stress, and LGBTQ+ specialties. I'm also happy to talk with you about any other area of concern you may not specifically see listed here. Please reach out to discuss further.
Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)

I work w/ adults 20 y.o. and up. I approach symptoms not as nuisances to be managed or reduced, but rather as signposts to be read. They point us to the deeper, meaningful issues that compel thoughtful reflection both in and outside the consulting room. We can look forward to exploring the patterns/themes that announce themselves in our work together, approaching all that we see w/ the respectful curiosity that sets the conditions for growth. I have experience working with adults struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, traumatic experiences, relationship difficulties, and the universal issue of learning to live in the face of loss. Since 1987 I’ve done psychotherapy in a variety of settings. Early on I worked in community mental health and then a rape crisis center. Later, I was a member of a large group private practice for over 25 years. My clinical orientation is psychodynamic with a strong relational orientation. My continuing education in psychodynamic approaches is ongoing. If you're interested in meeting, we'll first have a brief conversation on the phone so that I'll have a chance to tell you more about how my practice works and you'll have the opportunity to tell me more about your expectations or ask any questions you might have.
