Currently accepting new clients! Life can feel incredibly hard sometimes—overwhelming, stuck, disconnected, or just not how you hoped it would be. We are a team of compassionate, reflective therapists who offer a warm and relational space for clients to deepen self-understanding, heal from pain, and grow into more empowered versions of themselves. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, life transitions, or simply seeking to know yourself more fully, we’re here to walk with you. With clinicians who specialize in different areas—we’re equipped to support a wide variety of client needs and backgrounds. Our clinicians offer psychodynamic, relational, trauma-informed, somatic, and evidence-based approaches to support meaningful change. By exploring root patterns, learning to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and building practical tools for emotional regulation, we help clients create insight, shift stuck dynamics, and move forward with more intention. Our goal is to create an experience that feels personalized, affirming, and healing. We know it can feel vulnerable to start therapy, and we aim to make that process feel grounded and supportive. We offer a brief consultation to help match you with a therapist who feels like the right fit. Whenever you're ready, we’re here—and we hope to hear from you soon.

In this world full of stressors, it is common to feel emotionally and mentally maxed out, disconnected or disheartened. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe and comfortable being fully you, and can practice cultivating a relationship with yourself that is compassionate, curious, resourced, and hopeful. I work with adults navigating relationship issues past or present, anxiety, depression, trauma, difficult life transitions, grief, and more. Together we can process what you’ve been through and build the capacity to grow into the person you wish to become. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which supports the development of psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and value-based living; and psychodynamic therapy, which helps uncover how past experiences shape our current patterns, desires, and unmet needs. Whether you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, brokenhearted, or simply looking for a space to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, I’m here to support you. I’ll challenge you when needed, always with care and respect, and encourage you every step of the way with warmth and humor. You can reach me by phone at 503-334-2585 or email me at kiraehrmann@introspectivecollective.org.

I offer individual therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, perfectionism, self-criticism, intrusive thoughts, and relationship challenges. Together, we will work to cultivate self-compassion, navigate painful thoughts and emotions, and build a life that feels meaningful to you. Our work will be engaging, thoughtful, and supportive. I also recognize that counseling can sometimes feel difficult. During those moments, I am committed to being fully present and honoring your exploration of where you have been, where you are, and where you hope to go. I am here to meet you where you are, using a range of approaches to fit your needs. I strive to cultivate a safe space for geeks, gamers, and lifelong learners, offering care that is LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally sensitive, anti-racist, trauma-informed, and weight-inclusive.

I work with college students, graduate students, and adults navigating life's many transitions. Before entering private practice, I worked in two university counseling centers, where my clinical work focused on supporting young and emerging adults as they managed academic stress, relationships, identity development, anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life decisions. I especially enjoy working with highly sensitive people (HSPs), adults with ADHD, and those exploring or adjusting to a late diagnosis of autism. I also have extensive experience supporting clients exploring questions related to gender and sexual identity. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who feel overwhelmed, stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns, or exhausted from trying to meet others’ expectations while feeling disconnected from themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and relational. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for lasting change. Together, we'll explore the emotional and relational patterns that shape your life, helping you develop greater insight, emotional awareness, self-compassion, and new ways of responding to challenges. My work is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy, while also incorporating mindfulness- and compassion-based approaches, as well as somatic awareness and experiential interventions when they are helpful. I tailor therapy to each person, balancing reflection and insight with practical tools that help you feel more connected, resilient, and authentic. I practice from a feminist and anti-oppressive perspective and strive to create a culturally responsive, affirming space where all aspects of your identity and experience are welcomed with curiosity, respect, and compassion.

Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon. She chose social work as a second career, after having spent 20 years as manager and mentor in various government agencies. It was her own therapeutic journey, providing the insight and understanding to help her find grace in navigating the journey of life, which led her to further her education and complete her Masters of Social Work program. “I learned why I made decisions and choices in the past and how to use this knowledge to accept myself and move on. This is why I became a therapist, and this is the support I hope to offer you as my client. I have experienced the delicate balance of having a career, raising a teenager, taking care of elder parents and trying to identify what I needed for self-care.” After earning her degree, Kim worked for several years in a hospital behavioral health unit. Her approach is non-judgmental, person-centered and strength-based, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamics, Family Systems Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy. Kim has lived most of her life in Oregon and, as a single mom, adopted her now young-adult daughter from Guatemala. She has since added a loving husband, a huge Newfoundland dog and two rescue cats. Her interests include gardening, cooking, traveling and yoga. “My intention is to use my life and clinical experience to offer you a safe, trauma-informed space to help you discover you, and to help you find your path. I will listen and be supportive, helping you identify and untangle what gets in the way of you living life to the fullest. Life can be tricky, and its challenges sometimes seem overwhelming.” “It would be my privilege to help you in this journey.”

We'll collaborate together to build practical skills, better understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and create meaningful and lasting change! My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe growth often begins in moments of discomfort, and you don't have to face that alone. We'll explore what's worked and what hasn't, and try new approaches that align with your values, goals, and strengths. Starting therapy can feel pretty intimidating, and it's okay if you're unsure where to begin! You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. I provide online therapy for individuals and couples in Oregon and Washington, and in person therapy in the Hood River area. Therapy is an opportunity to engage with someone authentically and without judgement. Someone who cares about you though is not attached to the choices you make as a friend or family member might be. Someone with many years of experience and training in mental health, who is actively engaged in their own personal growth journey as well. I provide therapy that is relational, present focused, grounded in experience, and centered in the therapeutic alliance. The relationship between myself and my client(s) is the foundation of the work and is built on trust and a genuine connection. Though the work emerges out of the here and now experience between client(s) and therapist, it also investigates how the past shapes our character, choices, and life in the present. I am a Gestalt therapist and utilize concepts such as compassion, acceptance, and mindfulness to guide the work. I often incorporate EMDR and IFS approaches. I value and respect difference and work with clients from all backgrounds, orientations, and cultures. My goal in the work is to raise awareness so that the client has more agency in their life. Clients’ goals typically include feeling better, gaining insight, or managing life more skillfully. Common presenting issues are depression, anxiety, trauma responses, difficulty navigating relationships, managing emotions, and more. The work can be long term and in depth, and/or it can be shorter term and focused on tangible change. I am happy to offer a free brief phone consultation so we can decide if we are a good fit.

Do you worry constantly, have a persistent fear of failure or judgement and feel on edge with just about anything? Feeling like you’re not good enough, not living the life you want to live, or that you’ve lost touch with the things that bring you happiness with little hope that you can live life in a fulfilling way? Have you had a traumatic experience that left you feeling disconnected and having a hard time trusting people, with the need to protect and numb yourself? These things can impact our physical and mental wellbeing, keep us up at night, make us feel disconnected from the people closest to us and reduce our ability to achieve what we want in life. I may be able to help. I have experience guiding people with these concerns to make meaningful changes to increase their satisfaction with life. A sense of safety, confidence, hope, fulfillment and loving connections with your important people is what I work to achieve with you and it can be done. Research shows that 75% of people experience positive results after seeing a therapist. One of the most important predictors of positive outcomes in therapy is the therapeutic alliance, or the partnership between therapist and client. Therapeutic alliance means shared decision-making, mutual respect, non-judgement, empathy and understanding in the therapy room. I focus heavily on these elements so we can work smarter and not harder and to create an alliance that produces the results you want in therapy.
