I specialize in supporting young adults, professionals, and couples who experience challenges with relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, and chronic illness. Finding calm and balance is essential when the world around us is changing so quickly. In fact, times of uncertainty provide opportunities for us to look within, reevaluate our priorities, and recognize what we really need. I’m here to give you concrete help, guidance, and tools to navigate change, communicate effectively, and identify your wants and needs. I work to create a safe, judgment-free space that supports you in finding your truths.

Are you overwhelmed with feeling anxious or sad? Having trouble adjusting to recent changes in your life? You’re in the right place. I help college students and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression and life changes to feel more at peace, less worried, and more confident. Your experiences and story matter and I am here to listen. My job is to help you to help yourself. I will help you to explore your own strengths and struggles in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My goal is to be transparent, supportive, and informative while being culturally sensitive and LGBTIA+ affirming. I hold sessions Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm. During the first several sessions, I will help you to identify your goals while reflecting on your personal strengths that have helped you to get you to today. I want you to remember that you have survived every day before this one and that you are resilient. We work towards your goals with a speed that is comfortable for you, checking in on your progress throughout. I incorporate aspects of mindfulness to help you to cope and to heal while providing psychoeducation to help you to better understand your emotions and to gain insight into your experiences. I often give ‘homework’ to help to build new coping skills and to improve communication styles. Everything we will work on will be together, so I will always be transparent and you will always have a voice.

Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. I bring a non-judgmental approach to each session, and I meet clients where they are emotionally and spiritually. When working through the struggles adolescents and individuals may be experiencing, I use a supportive and holistic approach. In the course of our time together, we will process the impact of negative behaviors, and we will restore and set goals. Together we will work on growing your sense of self and meaning. While every therapeutic relationship has unique challenges, the common thread to all affirmative relationships is the presence of empathy, compassion, and sincere caring and understanding. "Have patience with all things, but first with yourself. Never confuse your mistakes with your value as a human being. You’re perfectly valuable, creative worthwhile person simply because you exist. And no amount of triumphs and tribulations can ever change that. Unconditional Self-Acceptance is the core of a peaceful mind.” St.Francis deSales

Counseling starts with building connections with therapists who recognize the significance of language and culture. As a therapist, I rely on my knowledge of the Latina/o community to communicate with clients about mental health stigma, develop trust, and discuss resources available. I can provide therapy in English and Spanish for those who wish to conduct sessions fully in Spanish. In my therapy work, I take a nonjudgmental approach and allow you to be you. I specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, and major life transitions. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are. Whether you’re holding deep sadness, feeling stuck in stress, or looking for new ways to cope, I’ll help you identify what’s working, build new tools, and move forward with more self-trust.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, empathetic and non-judgmental space to help people explore and overcome life's challenges while feeling seen and heard. I highly value building a strong therapeutic alliance based in authenticity, understanding, and respect as a foundation to the therapeutic process. I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD/complex trauma, interpersonal relationship difficulties, life changes and transitions, and other life stressors. I acknowledge the courage it takes to seek help and the work it takes to make meaningful changes. I work collaboratively with clients and personalize treatment based on the needs and goals of the individual. Using an integrative approach that incorporates psychodynamic fundamentals, mindfulness, and cognitive-based interventions, we will work to gain insight, find meaning, and build practical skills and tools in a way that works for you. I believe in providing treatment that considers the whole person, their life experiences, cultural identities, beliefs, and values and I work with my clients to facilitate treatment outcomes beyond symptom reduction, towards true healing and personal growth. I welcome you to reach out if you are interested in working together.

I offer an affirming, safe space for people who identify as POC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent to explore their identities and deconstruct their own narrative within the larger lens of society. I treat both individuals, and couples, ranging from ages 18-40+. I bring warmth, creativity, and a sense of humor into the room, because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. If you’re ready to feel a little lighter—and a lot less alone—let’s get started.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a degree in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University, in Boulder, Colorado. Mindfulness informs all aspects of my work, including my emphasis on creating a space of compassion and curiosity in which we can explore, experiment, and journey together. You can't do anything "wrong" in therapy; everything that happens can be mined for wisdom. I have primarily worked with people to address issues related to anxiety, depression, self-concept, and life transitions. I see therapy sessions as a balance between processing and skill-building, in which there is enough open space to explore and also enough direction to come away with concrete action steps to create the desired change. In addition to mindfulness, I have training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I frequently guide my clients in getting to know and work with "parts" of themselves. I bring a trauma-informed approach to all sessions, in which safety, empowerment, and self-compassion are held paramount. For trauma-specific work, I utilize my training in EMDR therapy to provide targeted interventions designed to desensitize and reprocess traumatic experiences in the brain. Above all else, I hold a steadfast hope for the ability of each and every person to heal and grow. It is truly an honor and privilege to join my clients in that journey.

Many of the students I work with are used to pushing through, even when they're overwhelmed. They may be questioning their career path, struggling with perfectionism, procrastination, people pleasing, or feeling like they're falling behind while everyone else seems to have life figured out. Others are navigating ADHD, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or family stress. As a college professor and psychologist, I understand the unique pressures students face and help them better understand the patterns that keep them stuck, build confidence in their decisions, and develop a stronger sense of who they are both in and outside of the classroom.

I work with college students navigating life transitions, loss, and the question of who they are and what comes next, often carrying patterns, unspoken expectations, or a sense of self shaped by experiences they didn't choose. As a bilingual, native Spanish-speaking therapist, I understand how nuanced identity can be and how exhausting it is when that isn't fully seen or honored. My specialty is helping young adult clients reclaim a sense of self during stages of life where identity and agency are often overlooked. I believe in a body-first, present-focused approach to treat your symptoms, prioritizing stabilization while trusting that lasting change comes from a deeper understanding of our histories, relationships, internal worlds, and motivations.

Learning how to navigate life as a young adult is hard! You are trying to balance the demands of work or school, family, and friends, all while figuring out who you are and who you want to be. As a driven and successful individual, you may put a lot of pressure on yourself and feel constrained by your own expectations. This can lead to constant self-doubt and feeling like you're always reaching for an unattainable (or unrealistic) goal. You may be overextending yourself to others, and not focusing on yourself. Perhaps you have negative thought patterns or behaviors that are causing discomfort or you don't always understand your reactions. Virtual therapy can help. Let's work together to discover the barriers that are keeping you from finding balance in your life - taking care of yourself and setting boundaries is not selfish!
