Hello! Being a college student can be difficult, I’ve been there, and I can help you throughout this process and even beyond. Therapy, like college, is a journey that begins with a single step. Therapy does not have to focus on one area, the joy of this is that we can work on whatever it is that you want. I will push you when needed, laugh with you, and most importantly, meet you where you are in your process. Take the first step for therapy today by reaching out to set up a free consultation.

I worked in college counseling for four years, (2021-2025) and understand the unique challenges students face along with the systemic factors that can greatly impact students. Your mental health and wellbeing is essential for navigating the college experience, and you deserve support through this journey. When working together, we usually focus on whatever is most pressing for you. For some, this looks like discussing an upsetting situation and processing the emotions they are feeling, then finding ways to make these emotions more manageable so that they can function in their day-to-day life. Other times, we focus more deeply on connecting patterns and themes that have developed over the course of your life and figuring out how to navigate the world differently. I often help students to better understand and identify their feelings by pausing, slowing down, and connecting the mind and the body. We can work on how to handle distressing feelings without constant avoidance or distractions, how to communicate more effectively, and how to create meaning and wholeness. If you feel anxious, depressed, stressed out, and are having difficulty with managing all of the things you're trying to balance between your personal life and academic responsibilities, reach out and I am happy to connect and see if we'd be a good fit.

It is normal facing change to experience confusion, anger, anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. From loss to relationship issues, I am passionate about helping young adults navigate complex life transitions. College is a transition for everyone, and you’re not alone if you’re struggling to find yourself during this period. In our work together, I will help you uncover inner strength, clarity, and purpose to find a path forward. I work with a range of issues, specializing in grief, illness, women’s health, cancer, and relationships & attachment. It is my honor to guide people through exploring inner narratives, addressing childhood wounds, transforming limiting beliefs, and strengthening relationships. Therapy with me is relational, collaborative, and relatable. My approach also touches on the mind-body connection, and I have training in ecotherapy. I enjoy helping people find and embrace the intersections of nature, the outdoors, and movement with mental health. Guided by radical acceptance and compassion, I believe therapy is a shared journey of self-discovery. If you are seeking healthier ways to navigate whatever life is throwing at you, you do not have to do this work alone. Please reach out for a free consultation.

Through careful listening and an empathic, honest approach I can help you feel better about yourself and your life. You may feel stuck in a job or relationship, or overly stressed with the demands of school. You may want more from life but not know how to get it. You may be struggling with with the difficulties of parenthood or marriage. I can help with artistic, creative, or intellectual struggles, body issues, sexual problems, substance issues, imbalances of life and work, impulse control, past trauma, or even just a general lack of inspiration or motivation in life. The goal is always to feel better about love and work. I welcome adult individuals and adolescents into my practice, with a focus on college students. My work is psychoanalytically informed but pragmatic, and it is important to me to get to know my patients well and to spend time working collaboratively through their needs. I hold master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and completed my psychoanalytic training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in New York. TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges related to making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. You may want something different from your life, but you’re not sure what it is or how to go about getting it. You could have questions about relationships, career, or identity. Or perhaps you have been finding yourself overtaken by strong emotions at unexpected times. You need a space to talk, think, feel, and explore your world - both the parts that are acknowledged and also the parts that feel mysterious or shrouded. I see psychotherapy as a process of discovery. Through this process, you will have the opportunity to learn about yourself, including the parts of you that are hard to reach or difficult to know. I believe that a person cannot be fully defined in terms of a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. We are complex beings with unique temperaments and lived experiences, and we exist in a world of complex and sometimes oppressive systems. I see you first and foremost as an individual and acknowledge the courage and vulnerability it takes to seek out therapy. I practice psychodynamic therapy through an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. This work can allow you to have greater self-knowledge; to grow, and to consider and perhaps to make different decisions in your life. My approach is to bring curiosity, empathy, and insight to your current situation and to go from there.
