When everything feels like too much, therapy shouldn’t add to the pressure. I'm a liberatory therapist working with kids and adults facing life transitions and overwhelm. I don’t believe in forcing people to fit systems that weren’t built for them. Instead, I center you—your needs, your truth, and your pace. Using humanistic and cognitive approaches, I offer a grounded space where we can explore what’s hard, celebrate your strengths, and move toward a more authentic sense of self. With compassion, humor, and curiosity, we’ll challenge the stories that are holding you back—and build new ones that feel like yours.

I affiliate with cognitive behavioral approach to treatment (CBT), as well as acceptance commitment therapy (ACT). As a CBT and ACT therapist, my approach is distinguished by forward-looking, positive and goal-oriented approach, with the ultimate outcome of providing you with a set of skills improving your life. When I meet my clients for the first time, we may decide to seek solutions to ADHD, OCD, anxiety or depression. In each situation, therapy aims to support skill development and fosters a sense of balance, or equanimity.

In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.

I am a neurodivergent affirming Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider. For almost two decades, I have been working with and supporting neurodivergent teens, adults, and their parents through life’s transitions. I work with my clients to understand their experience, areas they would like to focus on, and collaborate to address these issues with an approach that’s every bit as unique as they are. I have worked extensively with autistic clients and individuals diagnosed with ADHD, focusing on topics related to anxiety, depression, sexuality, self-esteem, life transitions, workplace conflict, relationships, parenting, social skills, and executive functioning. With a judgment-free, strengths-based approach, I seek to foster happiness and confidence, supporting each person as an individual finding their own path. I believe that differently wired minds are what create progress, innovation, and enrich our world.

Seeking therapy and finding the right therapist can be difficult and daunting. My initial goal when meeting with new clients is to create a comfortable and safe environment. Wherever you are in your pursuit of receiving help is where I accept you and begin our work together. Wherever you are is a good place to start. The practice I opened with close colleagues is called Elysium Counseling LLC. “Elysium” by definition is a place of ideal happiness or a peaceful state of mind. While that may feel unrealistic to obtain by some, we help our clients grow to believe they can achieve just that. I want my clients to know that change is possible, that they have unique skills and abilities, and are worthy and capable of creating a life they want to live. Part of that process invites clients to be challenged in new ways, even if it’s hard. I value and prioritize relationships with my clients, as I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the main contributor to successful treatment outcomes. Life is complicated. It’s my job to help clients navigate all that comes with it as best they can.

Hi! I’m Jocelyn, a psychiatric nurse practitioner passionate about supporting women and anyone who identifies with womanhood through life’s ups and downs. I specialize in helping clients manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I have a special interest in perinatal mental health. College and young adulthood can bring so many transitions—new responsibilities, shifting identities, and sometimes overwhelming stress. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can feel seen and supported. In our sessions, I combine medication management with brief, solution-focused therapy to help you better understand your mind, build coping skills, and feel more balanced day to day. I especially enjoy working with BIPOC, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ students and young adults who are exploring growth, healing, and self-discovery.

It is within safety and connection that we heal. I believe in the importance of creating a warm, non-judgmental, and safe therapeutic space, and a relationship in which you feel supported, understood, and heard. Client’s that I work with often struggle with feeling good about themselves, navigating relational challenges, coping with distressing experiences, as well as feeling connected to and/or expressing their authentic self. Together, we will explore your concerns and help you grow towards greater self-understanding, confidence, improvements in the quality and intimacy of your relationships, self-compassion, and well-being. My therapeutic approach is integrative, trauma-informed and relational. I tailor interventions to meet the specific needs and presenting concerns of clients and couples to supportively foster individuals’ and partners’ movement towards their goals. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). I specialize in working with individuals and couples struggling with interpersonal and relationship concerns (e.g., romantic, family, friends), sexual health and intimacy, transition and adjustment difficulties, emotional distress (e.g., anxiety, depression), grief and loss, trauma, and identity development. I would be honored to be a part of your journey.

Our experienced team of addiction specialists and mental health professionals will work closely with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and challenges. Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and holistic approaches, we aim to empower individuals to overcome addiction and build a solid foundation for lasting recovery. At The Recovery Team Newton We understand that addiction is a complex and multifaceted disease that affects individuals physically, mentally, and emotionally. That is why our treatment approach is holistic, addressing all aspects of an individual’s well-being. We believe in treating the whole person, not just the addiction. We provide a range of amenities and services to enhance the treatment experience, including comfortable living spaces, nutritious meals, recreational activities, and access to outdoor spaces. We understand that recovery is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to providing our clients with the tools and resources they need to maintain sobriety beyond their time in our programs. Our aftercare services include relapse prevention planning, alumni support groups, individual counseling, and referrals to community resources. Hello! Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or have been in therapy before, I welcome you here. I would also like to recognize your courage and self-awareness for seeking help. College is a unique time in that lots of changes are happening. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or unsure how to proceed; maybe you’re experiencing big transitions in school, relationships, or your sense of self in the world. In my practice, I use a mixture of talk psychotherapy and expressive therapies to help you address these big changes, to know and release emotions in a variety of ways so that you are able to effectively cope when things get hard. We may utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to help address and change negative thoughts that are holding you back, and trauma-informed practices to help heal emotional wounds. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling so that you feel empowered, confident, and fully supported in our therapeutic work together. I became a therapist because I don’t ever want people to feel they need to weather the storm alone. You deserve care, compassion, validation, and encouragement to keep going. Thank you for considering me a trusted ally in your journey to greater well-being.
