Therapists for college students near Boston College
I create a safe space for you to explore who you are, your experiences in life, and what you would like to become or experience, by providing a non-judgmental, respectful, calm, stable, and positive atmosphere as your counselor. I will encourage and guide you to be your authentic self. The populations I specialize in counseling include people who identify within the broad spectrums of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression (and their loved ones), persons living with HIV, social justice & civil rights workers, and polyamorous folks & others in non-traditional, open, and/or kink relationships. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and those who are going through life changes. I also enjoy teaching life and coping skills, assertive communication, boundary setting, mindfulness, and doing relationship counseling, career counseling, and life coaching. Sessions are video telehealth only, and are $100 for 45-minute sessions.
Going to a new therapist can be a bit stressful; what will they be like, will they understand me or really be able to help? I often get college students who have tried therapy before and it just didn't work, they do well with me. I use CBT; cognitive behavioral therapy style, give open and honest feedback (don't sit and nod) and have a sense of humor. Graduated from Northeastern, I have been doing this awhile and have some ways of problem solving and really helping. We celebrate your wins and support what you need to be successful. I am always thankful to be invited into your lives to help. This is your journey.
I offer both psychotherapy and neuropsychological evaluations in my practice. In therapy, I work with college students who are experiencing distress related to anxiety, depression, disconnection in relationships, attention difficulties, and learning disabilities. I strive to recognize each individual client's strengths as we also pinpoint effective strategies to increase overall life satisfaction. As a neuropsychological evaluator, I specialize in the identification of learning disorders, attention difficulties, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorders.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, OCD-related concerns, phobias, and sleep difficulties Over the past several years, I have noticed that many college students struggle academically due to undiagnosed ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and attention-related concerns that may go overlooked. In response to this need, I have added comprehensive and affordable ADHD diagnostic testing to my practice to help students better understand their difficulties, access appropriate treatment recommendations, and obtain accommodations when clinically indicated for academic settings and standardized testing. In addition to ADHD testing, I frequently work with students experiencing anxiety, obsessive thinking, perfectionism, panic, OCD symptoms, sleep disruption, and stress related to academic performance and life transitions.

Do you feel like you’re juggling everything — trying to be the strong one — while quietly running on empty? On the outside, it looks like you’ve got it together, but inside, you’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and wondering why it’s so hard to just feel okay. Maybe you say yes when you want to say no or carry old wounds that still affect your life. You’re ready for change — to feel more grounded, present, and connected. I specialize in helping self-aware women break free from perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the heavy emotional load they’ve been carrying for way too long. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s underneath the surface. I use EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches to help you process what’s been holding you back — whether it’s anxiety, past trauma, or patterns you’re just tired of repeating. Therapy with me is about creating a space where you can finally exhale, be fully seen, and start building a life that feels true to who you are. If any of this resonates, I’d love to talk. Reach out for a free 15-minute consult to see if we’re a good fit.
Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. I have a passion for working with young adults as they navigate the, sometimes difficult, processes of exploring their mental and emotional health and well being while also juggling their school, work, and relationships in their life. I work with students who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, stress management, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, along with many other struggles that are occurring. When working together, you will be given a safe and nonjudgmental space to gain deeper insight into what you are struggling with. You will be able to take therapy at your own pace and develop skill to help regulate emotions, manage life stressors, experience growth, and access the strength you have had all along. We will work together as a team throughout. I offer an empathetic, caring, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. I believe a therapist's job is to help people get "unstuck." All behavior serves a purpose. Even the most painful or confusing patterns often began as ways to cope with overwhelming circumstances. In therapy, we'll explore these parts of yourself and work to deepen self-awareness. Over time, you will come to recognize that while your emotional responses once made perfect sense, they may no longer serve you in the same way. Therapy is not about erasing or lingering in the past, but about making meaning from it. At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll turn inward with curiosity and compassion so you can move through the world with greater clarity, coherence, and connection.
