Effective therapy creates meaningful, lasting, joyful change. As your therapist I can help you resolve the inner and outer conflicts that create pain and exhaustion. Life brings unchosen experiences. Sometimes we feel hurt, scared, or deeply alone. Sometimes what happens seems too big to manage. For 25+ years I have had the privilege of helping people learn to live as their "best self," able to manage their moods, thoughts and situations with compassion and skill, to make changes to reach their goals, and to find happiness. I lived and worked in Africa for 6 years, and have helped people from many cultures find their joy. My specialty is helping people understand their unique "recipe" of biology, upbringing, relationships, and current situations, and how they might work with their "ingredients" to create immediate and long-lasting positive change. My approach is practical. I integrate psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies, internal and strategic family systems, EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness-based stress management. Depression, anxiety, loneliness, frustration, pulls towards behaviors that lead to pain...whatever is interfering with your well-being is worth changing. Together we can produce change. Please EMAIL

Whatever it is that has brought you here, welcome! I work with folks facing a range of issues, with a specialty in trauma, anxiety, family conflict, LGBTQIA+ identity, and relationship issues. If you experience stress from caring for/about others and our environment, I am ready to support you. I am a climate-aware therapist, meaning I recognize climate grief and eco-anxiety as legitimate responses to a global crisis and important areas of attention in therapy to help you better navigate our changing world. In therapy, I attend to ways in which the ideas, actions and policies in our communities, cultures and families can be sources of both pain and resilience. I am committed to providing queer- and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and I believe in the collaborative exploration of all intersections of identity that feel important to you. My experience informs my work. My career in international humanitarian aid and gender-based violence lends a unique perspective to trauma-informed care. Trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I bring neuroscience and the mind-body connection into therapy. Our work will explore how the body holds past experiences and how it can help you heal. I also support people in therapeutically integrating psychedelic experiences. I look forward to getting started!

I am committed to provide LGBTQ+ and BIPOC centered care. One on one psychotherapy based on clients’ strengths and growth points at a collaborated pace. I support clients who need support navigating life transitions, anxiety, relationships/dating, identity-related challenges, imposter syndrome work/life balance and neurodiversity. I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2016, and am professionally licensed in Massachusetts. I use different counseling modalities based on what clients presented needs such as evidence-based approach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Person Centered, Multicultural, and Strength-Based Therapy. You may be in a time full of worry and uncertainty, it's okay to want the support of deep connections with others. Therapy can be a place to heal, to learn, to grow, to transform, and to feel seen. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, and related disorders in college students and young adults. I also work with clients looking to effectively navigate and cope with current life stressors (e.g., work challenges, interpersonal relationships, transitions). I use evidenced-based techniques in my work with clients, and primarily from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) perspective. By emphasizing the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors clients will gain greater insight into their concerns and learn techniques for managing their anxiety and other life stressors. To target the behavioral aspects of anxiety, I will frequently incorporate exposure and response prevention (ERP) into my work to help clients to engage in exposures both during sessions and in real-world settings. I use a collaborative, personalized, and warm approach, working with clients to better understand their anxieties or challenges and encouraging them to become their own therapists over time while achieving their goals. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Bowdoin College, research assistantship at Boston University at the Family and Development Treatment Lab, doctoral studies at Boston University where I trained at their Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD), clinical internship at the VA Boston Healthcare System, and postdoctoral training at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. I then was a staff Psychologist at the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP), an intensive outpatient program at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Most recently, I was a staff Psychologist and Assistant Director at Emerson College’s Counseling and Psychological Services.

Hi there! I'm Heather, a proud Nurse Practitioner. I have been in practice as a prescriber since 2023, and worked in the mental health field in various settings for more than a decade prior as an RN. I work across the lifespan and with a variety of conditions. (Please note that at this time I am not prescribing controlled substances.) I believe in shared decision making and a person-centered approach to care; we're a team! I have a kind but direct approach to discussions and am solution-focused. I believe that medications are a tool, not a fix, so we will talk about a variety of interventions to support your wellness. You can expect that I will ask about your goals for care, and life, and that we will work together to meet those goals. I will sometimes assign "homework" to continue interventions outside of sessions in addition to any medication changes we may decide to make.

Hi! What are you struggling with? What challenges are you facing? Do you need more support in your life? Are you looking for someone who can listen to you, create an environment where you can talk about things that are hard in your life, and is able to support you in areas you want to grow and develop in emotionally? I do a lot of work with anxiety, people in larger bodies and body liberation, all kinds of life changes and adjustments, the queer and trans communities, people in higher education, relationship and communication challenges of all kinds including parents, roommates, and intimate partners including ethical non monogamy. I am more than happy to answer questions or to provide more detail, and offer a free thirty minute consultation to see if we are a good fit and if I can be helpful to you. I do not accept insurance. My website has detailed information on why to not work with insurance companies. Many of my clients have agreements with their parents to pay for therapy in order to have the support they need to be able to thrive in a college setting. My current fees for individual therapy is $225 a session. I can provide superbills, which are a way to recoup part or all of what you pay me through your insurance company. I have not had any insurance company refuse to do that for any clients I have worked with so far. Please check out my website for much more information about me and how I work. I look forward to hearing from you!

You often wish you felt better about yourself, didn't get so easily overwhelmed, and could handle conflict but aren’t even sure where to start. You’ve found yourself questioning if you should talk to someone. You’ve come to the right place! College life is full of changes and challenges. Even if they are good, changes can sometimes be more than we have bargained for and create a lot of stress and anxiety. Through their work with me, my clients have experienced feeling less overwhelmed by emotions, found effective ways to handle conflict with others (like roommates and partners), felt more connected/present, and gained more confidence in themselves. My clients describe me as welcoming, witty, direct, knowledgeable, and relatable. My style of therapy is very collaborative and conversational as I share tools that you can use in between our sessions. You can reduce the amount of anxiety you experience. At the very least, I can help you manage it in a different way that is less disruptive to you, your relationships, and achieving what you want to in school.
