Therapists for college students near Boston College
I provide trauma informed LGBTQIA and neurodivergent affirming therapy to young adults in person in Stoneham, Massachusetts, and virtually across all of Massachusetts. Those who work with me are often looking to better understand themselves and the world around them. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ community, with a particular interest in assisting young adults on their self-discovery and identity journeys. I also provide neurodivergent affirming therapy to autistic adults struggling with mental health symptoms related to the challenges of fitting into a neurotypical world.
I think of this work as a combination of life coaching and therapy. We will focus on your day to day life challenges, noticing the patterns that lead to success as well as those patterns that get in your way. While doing this we can strengthen and celebrate what is working, become aware of patterns that are not working and create new patterns resulting in a better life. In my practice we can do both in-person and/or Telehealth. If we are to meet in-person I like to meet you where you are at literally and figuratively. I do not see people in an office. In my time as a clinician I have learned that some of the best work is done on a walk or a drive, while at a coffee shop or some other cool place that you know. Give me a call and see if I feel like a good fit.

We recognize that maintaining a healthy relationship while attending college can be demanding, and our couple therapy sessions are tailored to address the unique challenges couples may face during this phase of life. We also offer adult family therapy, recognizing that family dynamics can play a significant role in a college student's well-being. Our family therapy sessions provide a safe space to explore and resolve familial conflicts, improve communication with parents and siblings, and foster a supportive environment for personal growth and development. To enhance accessibility and flexibility, we offer both in-office and telehealth services. We understand that college schedules can be demanding and unpredictable, so our telehealth option allows students to receive therapy conveniently from their dorms, apartments, or any private space. At Meridian Psychotherapy, we prioritize the mental health and well-being of college students. Our licensed therapists are not only skilled clinicians but also empathetic allies who genuinely care about the success and happiness of our student clients. We recognize the importance of providing a confidential and non-judgmental space for students to share their concerns and explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Our commitment goes beyond therapy sessions, as we strive to empower college students with coping skills and resources they can carry forward throughout their academic journey and beyond. We work collaboratively with students, empowering them to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation for their future. If you are a college student seeking support and growth during this transformative time, we encourage you to take the first step towards better mental health. In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.

Not All Who Wonder Are Lost! I am a therapist who is as kind as I am challenging. Join me as an enthusiastic explorer of life! Be open to change and renewed dedication to yourself! My past clients have ranged from international musicians, photographers, gymnasts, dancers, theater directors, actors to college students, teenagers and parents. The clients I see most often have problems with stress, anxiety, depression, and managing big transitions in life.
Many of the clients we work with are navigating significant transitions in life—whether it’s stepping into adulthood, healing from past trauma, managing anxiety or OCD, or exploring their identity. They often feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or like they have to “do it all” perfectly. They want space to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. In our practice, clients value real connection, honesty, and a therapist who feels present and engaged. They’re not looking for someone with all the answers—they’re looking for someone who will walk alongside them, help them understand themselves better, and offer tools that work in real life. Our clinicians care about people's stories and want to support clients in self-development by showing up authentically, building strong relationships, and exploring various clinical approaches, such as EMDR, IFS, ACT, and more. We look forward to supporting you.

Therapy can be that safe, accepting place and that's what I strive to create with you: somewhere for you to bring whatever it is that you're struggling with or the stuff that feels too heavy to bear alone. I have accompanied people through these and many other issues, and in therapy we'll identify what is holding you back and help you pick up new tools to tackle these challenges. I have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, and specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. Contact me today to find out whether we're a good fit to work together!

I am a clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience working with clients in a variety of settings and presenting with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, workplace issues, relationship issues, perinatal mood disorders, parent child attachment difficulties, and parenting challenges. I have worked with children, adolescents, college students and adults. one of my practice areas focuses on providing therapy to college and graduate students. While this can be an exciting and inspiring time, there are many factors (identity issues, social anxiety, academic pressures, relationship problems, ect) that can also make it a challenging time to navigate. I use my clinical experience in college settings and in private practice to help college students process feelings and develop coping skills so they can feel more competent and confident. My years of experience has taught me that the fit between a therapist and the client is a significant factor in whether a client feels their therapy is helpful. I use my intuition to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual client so that we both feel that we are moving forward in a way that feels supportive and productive.
