I have Immediate evening availability! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with ten years of experience in the community mental health field. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong appreciation for the therapeutic relationship. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership grounded in trust, mutual respect, and open communication. Both my professional background and personal experiences have contributed to my ability to cultivate a compassionate and client-centered therapeutic approach. Transition to adulthood and and life changes such as going to college can very much impact an individual. This impact can be a large adjustment. You are not alone in those feelings! In my practice, I utilize a diverse range of interventions and modalities to tailor my approach to each client's individual needs. I am trained in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered, and Suicide Prevention.

“I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.

The clients I work with are often creative, sensitive people-pleasers who are feeling overwhelmed and alone. They’re struggling with their relationships and figuring out who they are and where they fit. Life is exhausting, as they second-guess every word that comes out of their mouth. The noise of everyone else’s expectations makes it impossible to sort out what they really want. With a compassionate and playful approach, we will break down your fears while uncovering what gives you strength, what lights you up, and what helps you feel confident.

I have been in private practice since 1997. After graduating from the California School of Professional Psychology with a Ph.D in clinical psychology and U.C. Berkeley with an MPH, I practiced in California which included attending privileges at several hospitals. I moved back East in 2001, and have been in private practice since that time. In addition to my private practice, I provide consultation to the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Psychiatry medical students, residents and fellows. I see undergraduate students from MIT to Worcester State, as well as high school students. I can say with complete honesty that I love my work and feel blessed to be of service to those willing to share their lives and collaborate to find the life they need. People come to share their deepest hopes and their deepest pain. Together we make sense of life in a way that works for you. Sh

I work with teens and adults to provide a gentle approach to reflecting and engaging with complex emotions. I sit with my clients through their challenges and play an active role in helping them finding hope, understanding, and resolutions. I work with individuals who have experienced grief/loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, challenges in relationships, and difficult life transitions. I love using art therapy to increase insight and awareness into our thoughts and feelings. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and use this modality to help clients identify and reprocess memories that have contributed to the beliefs they hold about themselves. If you are interested in learning more about my approach, please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation!

Hi there — I'm glad you're here. I work with thoughtful, high-achieving students who seem like they have it all together on the outside but are quietly exhausted on the inside. You might be the friend everyone counts on, the one who never says “no,” even when you're running on empty. Maybe you’re stuck in a cycle of overthinking, overworking, and still feeling like it’s never enough. College life can feel like a nonstop pressure cooker — but it doesn’t have to be this hard. My approach is holistic, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you feel more like yourself again. I blend tools from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Somatic Therapy to help you better understand your stress, listen to your body’s cues, and build coping strategies that actually work for you. Let’s connect for a free consult and see if we’re a good fit. You don’t have to figure this all out alone.

Sometimes it feels like the world is crashing down around you, or it may feel like life has been chaotic for so long you can't imagine it any other way. Sometimes you might not be able to stop thinking about it, other times you'll do anything to avoid thinking about it. It's been a heavy burden to carry, even if others are trying to help. Many circumstances make us feel disconnected from ourselves and others; It might be a major life change, a loss, chronic anxiety, a traumatic event or abusive relationship. Whatever the reason you are seeking treatment, I am here to be your teammate in the healing process. I am open to working with anyone experiencing stress, grief or trauma. If you are looking for someone with niche experience relevant to your situation, I have specialized experience supporting survivors of domestic violence and community violence, suicide and homicide bereavement, individuals with adoption and foster care histories, individuals impacted by a loved ones' substance use, intergenerational trauma, and burnout/compassion fatigue. Whatever the circumstance, I am here to be your teammate in the healing process. I incorporate cultural humility into my practice, including providing LGBTQ and neurodivergent affirming care. In my practice, I value transparency in the therapeutic relationship and aim to create a space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. My approach is holistic, strengths-based and person-centered. I use a combination of attachment-based, narrative and cognitive behavioral approaches to tailor services to the person sitting in front of me. Finding the right therapist is often a frustrating process. If you are looking for an active partner in your healing journey, who values transparency and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship, then I might be a good fit! I believe therapy is a place not only for understanding and working through struggles but also for growing and creating more joy and connection. I love working with people who are curious about themselves and may label themselves as a highly sensitive person (HSP). Those who feel intensely and are acutely aware of the hurts of others. Those who find themselves giving time and time again to others while sacrificing their own needs. I also have a special interest in complex and childhood trauma (those who were hurt, neglected, abused, or not loved properly as a child). Together we can work to notice, identify, and tap into your inner strengths. We will challenge messages you may have gotten growing up that no longer serve you (you have to take care of others, you are too sensitive, you don't belong). And we will help you develop greater self-compassion so that you can take better care of yourself, do the things YOU want to do, set boundaries with others, and ultimately foster more joy and connection in your life.

I view therapy not only as a means of reducing emotional distress but also as an approach to personal growth. However, I believe that therapy should not be a way of life and I therefore support clients in developing concrete skills, with emphasis on working with emotions: promoting a better understanding of emotions and emotion regulation. I view therapy as a collaborative process of exploration. I bring to this process an attitude of compassionate curiosity and non-judgment. I also draw on my own bi-cultural experience - I was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. I practice emotion-focused therapy, which emphasizes the positive, adaptive roles of emotions. Sometimes, however, due to stress, trauma or adverse life events, emotions can become a source of distress. Through empathic, collaborative exploration I help my clients identify their authentic emotional needs and develop strategies for managing and regulating distressing emotions. If you are located in Western Mass (Pioneer Valley) I also offer walking therapy and animal assisted therapy. Therapy is my 2nd career. My PhD is in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) and my therapeutic work is informed by 25+ years of research in AI and cognitive & affective science. I am thus very familiar with academic environments and draw on this knowledge when working with students, both undergraduate and graduate.

I've spent the majority of my career working with teenagers and young adults. Since 2020, I've been working in a college mental health center, where I help students navigate the challenges of being in academics while also attending to the complexities of life. I love working with college students and witnessing the incredible change that can happen during this important time in life. When working together, I will always meet you where you're at, help you formulate your goals, and gently push you towards values-based living. I specialize in treating OCD and anxiety, including phobias and social anxiety. My hope is that I can help you find your voice and build confidence through my compassionate, down-to-earth therapy style. I also love to infuse creativity whenever possible to help deepen the therapeutic experience and foster self-reflection.
