Psychological suffering exists on different levels and manifests in different ways, in psyche, body, interpersonally, socially, both consciously and unconsciously. Thankfully, there are many ways to address psychological struggle, ranging from working with symptoms that are consciously experienced to the exploration of underlying non-conscious dynamics, many of which originate during the early years of one's life and impact one's relationship with self and others. My work is social justice-informed and incorporates an understanding of how larger socio-political systems impact our lives. Facilitating empowerment is key in my work. I provide a safe space and relationship in which to listen deeply, to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories, fantasies, and bodily experience. By learning to listen in new ways, we expand our capacity to hold more, respond with greater flexibility, clarity and ease, develop presence and compassion, and become empowered to make positive changes. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness and Internal Family Systems. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, issues around individuation, existential questioning, embodiment difficulties, and relationship challenges.

I help my clients to eat better, sleep better and feel better by making small habit shifts that lead to positive results in health, energy, focus, mood, and relationships. Margot brings a warm and interactive style to her psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as “eclectic,” as she believes that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), Margot will tailor her practice to people’s individual needs depending on the particular issues they would like to address in therapy. Striving to balance the demands of modern life is an on-going process. We are ever evolving, discovering new parts of ourselves, facing challenges, confronting health issues, encountering loss, or adjusting to new situations--- it is part of the human condition. At times these demands are too much or too complicated to manage alone. Psychotherapy is both a relationship and a service. Finding a safe, supportive, and comfortable place are just some aspects of the therapist search. I welcome clients to meet with me to decide if my services fit their particular areas of concern. I try to provide a warm, safe and open environment with my clients and believe in a collaborative approach to help find resolution and a better understanding of yourself.

One of my specializations is helping students who feel they are on the verge of dropping a semester because of stress, anxiety, or other difficulties. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, in a crisis or at a crossroads, or in any situation in which 50 minutes of counseling isn't “enough”, an Individual Counseling Retreat may be a good fit. This service was created in part to fill a gap in services between the 50-minute session and going into a hospital or rehab. But it's also intended for anyone who simply wants or needs to go deeper than the typical therapy session. A personal counseling retreat puts therapy into a different context: An inspiring setting with a lot of time outdoors. Time to walk and talk, rather than just sitting, and leverage the healing effect of time in nature. We choose a retreat center or other setting so that the process itself is uplifting and inspiring, both calming and energizing. The impact of getting off the grid and devoting time to re-grouping can't be overstated. The time frame of a multi-day retreat allows a lot of learning and processing in a condensed period of time, with a minimum of distractions. The counseling addresses your difficulties, but also focuses on positive psychology- the skills of thriving and well-being. It also integrates meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and healthy food. The one-to-one counseling allows for truly personalized attention and coaching. It provides the time and space to explore issues in depth, connecting dots and seeing new ways of responding. It's not a magic cure, because nothing is. But it is a unique and highly impactful experience and a powerful commitment to your future well-being. A typical retreat is 3-5 days, and includes mindfulness meditation, stress management skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), addiction recovery counselings as appropriate, and other evidence-supported therapeutic frameworks. MBCT focuses on empowering you to understand helpful and unhelpful patterns of thinking and reacting, and grow the positive ones. The work focuses primarily on the here and now, less on lengthy excavation of your past. The overall goal is resourcing you with new skills to better manage the stress and challenges you return to post-retreat. You come away with more than a diagnosis and a medication prescription. The outcome of a retreat is a new understanding of how your mind, nervous system and body interact, and how to ride life's ups and downs with more resilience. You leave with a post-retreat plan of self-care, which includes specific daily practices to support ongoing self-regulation and what you value most: Being your best self. As appropriate, post-retreat follow up with me is available. Clients who bring flexibility of mind- an ability to look at problems in a new way- and who have a love of the outdoors tend to resonate with this work the most. To discuss fees, location options and other logistical matters, email or call. Let's find a plan that works for you!

My practice focuses on helping clients feel safe, heard and understood in order to process current experiences. Through identification of thoughts and feelings we can then look at new ways of coping and developing skills to manage the human experience. Radical acceptance and authentic human connection. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Trying to keep your head above water? Do you need a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued? I can help. I provide warm, engaging therapy without judgment, shame, or stigma. I work with folx ages 16+ who are looking for new ways to move through life. I tend to work with people who are going through a transition. Perhaps you are going off to college, trying to understand an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, navigating complicated relationships, or exploring your identity. (I provide gender-affirming treatment letters.) WARNING: I'm not the kind of therapist who nods & asks: "How does that make you feel?" I work in an interpersonal, solution-focused, collaborative language format. Meaning? I'm super interactive, and we're gonna work together to manage your drama & trauma. I use radical acceptance and authentic human connection to help you on your path toward healing, growing, and thriving. I've been a therapist for over a decade. I use strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theories to guide us, but healing doesn't happen via theory. It lies within you- your hopes, hardships, successes, and infinite wisdom. My mission is to help you feel deeply understood and connected as you gain awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, and body are interconnected. Take a break from your hectic day and find a relaxing space where you can virtually come to learn to maximize your strengths, minimize your fears, and increase your confidence. As an expressive therapist, I’ve been trained to find additional approaches towards healing, which may include the arts. My style is relational, collaborative, and informed. Recovery and healing are possible. We all have struggles we've faced in this life. You are the expert of your life and your experience. Racism, homophobia, and sexism are hardcore capital-T Traumas. Even the strongest among us need support in helping our inner critic shut up and get out of our way. You are amazing, and I want to help you see that (especially if you just got through this whole thing and are still reading).

My Practice: I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a focus on supporting young adults through compassionate, evidence-based therapy. I also work with parents through coaching, helping families navigate challenges and strengthen their relationships. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including: anxiety disorders (social anxiety, phobias, OCD, generalized anxiety), depression and mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), trauma, self-esteem issues, self-harm and emotional dysregulation, and parent-child conflict My approach is strengths-based and client-centered. I believe therapy is a collaborative process rooted in trust, safety, and respect. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, drawing from multiple therapeutic frameworks, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My Training: I received my B.S. from Cornell University in Human Development in 2015 and my Masters in Social Work from Boston College in 2020. My previous clinical experience includes acute psychiatric residential treatment at McLean-Franciscan's Community-Based Acute Treatment (CBAT), school social work at Brookline and Boston Public Schools, and outpatient therapy under a group practice. Who I am: I’m silly, serious, inquisitive, and loyal. I come from a very big family and am a first-generation college student. These parts of my identity shape how I show up in the therapy room - grounded, curious, and deeply committed to connection. Outside of my work, I love to cook, spend time with my loved ones, and move my body in nature. Whether it’s swimming, running, hiking, biking, or skiing, being outdoors helps me feel present and energized.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Natick, MA

I've been working in the field for almost 20 years. I specialize in working with teens/young adults. Some of my focuses include issues around anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning/school difficulties, school stressors in general, LGBTQIA+, relationship/family issues, and life transitions. I want to help my clients feel empowered to live with more peace, health and confidence. I use various modalities, depending on what the client needs, to help individuals explore feelings, identify helpful coping skills and ultimately reach their goals. Often, I see clients who need help understanding patterns of behavior that have caused distress, and it is through self-awareness and support that positive change can start to occur. I am focused on developing a trusted therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect. I am down to earth and easy to talk to. I strive to create the space for clients to explore their strengths and challenges in a supportive, nonjudgemental way. It is important to have an unbiased person support you through life's ups and downs.
