Located near 96th St and Keystone Avenue on the north side of Indianapolis, my quiet, private office provides a comfortable, confidential, and supportive environment where you can share about yourself and your experiences. Since completing my Master's in 2008, I have worked in mental health and addictions with a wide range of clients. No matter what brought you here, you deserve to feel better and live the life you want. I specialize in working with young adults, therapists, LGBTQ+ folks, and perfectionists/high achievers. I'm also trained in EMDR for processing trauma. I teach coping skills to calm the brain and body in order to manage emotions. You'll learn to reframe negative self-talk, manage stress, reduce perfectionism, & improve self-esteem. We can explore past trauma & how it impacts you currently. I also empower folks to set boundaries and prioritize self-care. We'll work on breaking patterns, assertive communication, and forming healthy habits. My style is authentic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I use a customized approach to create a style of therapy that best suits your goals. No two people are alike, and my approach to each person is just as unique. I'm pretty direct (while still being empathetic), and I encourage you to be direct with me too. Therapy isn't always serious or difficult - it can actually be a positive and uplifting part of your week. Whenever possible, I try to balance the difficult moments with lightness and hope. Check out my website for more info, or call/email if you'd like to work with me!

Do you find yourself unable to shut your mind off? Replaying past events or chronically worrying? Is your inner critic keeping you from finding confidence in yourself and security with your place in the world? Have you experienced emotional pain and confusion that keeps your past in the present? Are you struggling to build self-esteem or find self-worth? Has the stress from daily responsibilities compounded existing problems with depression, anxiety, or loss? It is possible to move through emotional pain and self-doubt. Together, we can build insight into thoughts, patterns, and behaviors that may be holding you back; explore your strengths and values; and determine how to make healthy change a part of your life. Learning styles vary, so I use elements from different therapeutic approaches. We can work together to discover the strengths you may not have known you have to achieve more satisfaction and balance in the most important areas of your life.

My approach to therapy comes from a space of empathy, compassion, and absolutely zero judgement. My goal for every individual is to help them experience a positive change. I utilize a strengths based approach to encourage my clients to tap into their own strengths and resources while also meeting them where they are at in their personal therapeutic journey. I became interested in therapy due to my own personal struggles with addiction and with 11 years of sobriety, I hope to help others. My goal is for my clients to get something out of the work we do together and for it to be worthwhile and beneficial for them. I work alongside my clients to help them reach their goals while appreciating and celebrating their strengths. I have a laid back approach which includes colorful language, an odd sense of humor, and finding a balance to push you outside of your comfort zone to accomplish your goals. I hope to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and for me to help them process life's tough challenges and celebrate the victories.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Stephanie, a licensed mental health therapist and owner of Inner Emotions Counseling, LLC. I started my practice in 2021 and am currently working with clients up to age 25. My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, substance use and family/relationship issues. I strive to meet clients where they’re at using a solution-focused therapeutic style. I often turn to using cognitive behavioral therapy as well which helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. No problem is too big to overcome and I’ll be with you every step of the way in your journey. I graduated with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2020 and also have a Masters in Addictions Counseling from there as well. I completed this degree in 2021. I realized I wanted to be a therapist after teaching for a year in Indianapolis Public Schools. I earned my Bachelors degree from Butler University in 2015 and played collegiate soccer while doing so. My current hobbies include playing indoor soccer, being outside, spending time with my pets, reading and traveling. I’d love to help you overcome your presenting problems and help you move forward in life. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I’d be a good fit in your journey!

College is awesome, but it can be really tough, too. Juggling school with the rest of your life--work, family, friends, relationships--can take a toll on your mental health. Anxiety, stress, depression, and even suicidal thoughts are not uncommon, but you don't have to navigate them alone. My internship was at IUPUI CAPS, and I have lots of experience as an advisor and adjunct professor, so I know better than most how stressful college can be. I'd love to help you turn down the volume in your mind and move toward the life you want.

I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient facilities, supporting both individual clients and their families. I have worked with individuals who are managing ADHD, Autism, PTSD, OCD, symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, transition of life, academic needs, relationship challenges and changes, and managing stressors throughout life and more. My goal as a therapist is to help you work through your issues, address your inner needs, and achieve your goals. I help you focus on what is most important to you by providing you a safe space to explore, express and examine the areas of your life that have been causing you stress or discomfort. In my free time, I enjoy playing tabletop board games, traveling, reading mystery and true crime thrillers, and spending time with my family and my dogs. You can text, email or call me. You can contact me at 317-731-2257. I will be taking new clients at the start of the year. I am in transition from a group practice to a solo practice!

Hi there! Thanks for taking some time to read more about me and my work. As a therapist, I have a huge passion for helping young adults struggling with questions such as "Who am I?" "Where do my feelings come from?" and "What do I do from here?". I spend many hours with clients diving deeper into these questions, and helping clients with issues surrounding anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and identity. I look forward to answering any questions you may have, and potentially working with you in the future!
