Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
College can be a wild mix of freedom and stress... with friend drama, missing home but wanting independence, figuring out what you want to do with your life, financial pressure, loneliness when friend groups shift, and the everyday weight of adult responsibilities starting to pile up. It’s a lot to carry, and it makes sense if you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure how to handle it all. And then, when you’re finally ready to reach out for support, finding a therapist can feel like another full-time assignment. Scrolling through endless profiles feels a little like online dating... you’re reading way too many bios, everyone sounds kind of the same, and you’re left wondering who you’ll actually click with. Add in the stress of costs, schedules, and trying to figure out if they’ll really get what you’re going through, and it’s exhausting before you even start. My goal is to make that step less overwhelming and give you a space where you don’t have to perform, pretend, or have it all figured out.

Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. I help women move through anxiety, stress, self-doubt, and life transitions with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re navigating career shifts, relationship changes, or simply feel disconnected from who you are, therapy can help you realign with your values, rebuild your self-trust, and reclaim your sense of direction. In my work together, we’ll identify what’s keeping you stuck—self- criticism, perfectionism, unresolved grief, or limiting beliefs—and transform those barriers into breakthrough moments. I’ll support you in using your natural strengths to problem-solve, build self-awareness, and take intentional steps toward a life that feels aligned and fulfilling. As an introvert and a therapist, I deeply understand the internal worlds many women carry quietly—feeling like you always have to “hold it together” even when you’re unraveling inside. This space is designed for you to safely unpack, reflect, and rebuild without judgment. Let’s work together to shift from self-doubt to self-assurance. You deserve to feel grounded, whole, and seen.
Viktor Frankl said "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." I find building healthy client/therapist relationships very satisfying. I enjoy working with clients who are open to growth. I am the mother of 3 young adult daughters. I am active in my profession by serving on the Board of Directors as President for 2018-19 as well as 3 prior terms as Western District Chair, for The Licensed Professional Counselors Association of GA (LPCA-GA). I am Certified as a Clinical Supervisor by LPCA-GA. I work with all sorts of populations, but I particularly feel that my strengths lie in working with young adults, adults, women, teens, pre-teens, parenting issues, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma and anyone going through a challenging life transition or existential crisis. I am Certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional through IATP. More details available on my website. I love being a Psychotherapist because I have the honor of hearing my clients stories. Each day I learn something new from clients and I hope that they are learning from me as well. Every day I am amazed at the strength and courage my clients have shown in their lives and I am honored at being invited into those stories and asked for guidance and clarity. Welcome, I’m Natoyia Harris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities. My background includes crisis support, counseling, and case management with people from many different walks of life. What I bring to each session is compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to helping you unmask the layers of disappointment, rejection, or emotions that may feel too heavy to carry alone. I work with individuals who are struggling to manage the many paths and pressures that impact their lives—whether that means navigating stress, life transitions, relationships, or unprocessed emotions. My goal is to bridge the gap by providing a holistic approach to therapy that is centered on you as a unique individual. “I believe healing begins when we feel seen, heard, and understood. My approach to therapy is collaborative—we work together to build bridges of support strong enough to carry life’s challenges, while honoring your story, values, and goals. I strive to create a space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment.”
There is a part of me that feels extremely anxious. There is a part of me that gets really sad and down at times. There is a part of part of me that can hardly get out of bed some days. There is a part of me that needs to take care of everyone and everything. There is a part of me that wants to check out and escape from all the responsibilities I have. There is a part of me that thinks about dying and a part of me that wants to live. There is a part of me that …. How many times have we all had these feelings or thoughts that come over us that seem conflicting at times but represent how we are feeling in the moment. Understanding our parts even those that are contradictory, being able to validate and accept our parts, and creating balance and space for our parts mentally can be attained through therapy. Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is designed to allow us to heal from our pain, hurt, and fears by managing the parts that have been created out of our traumas. We have all experienced trauma in some form, and we all have parts that have been borne from those traumas. Parts that help us manage our daily lives and parts that may tend to disrupt our lives, but all of these parts are valid and serve some self-protective purpose and can be managed once they are understood. Adjusting to the rigours of academics and the school environment can sometimes be challenging. In my practice, I have helped students cope with Anxiety, Panic attacks, Inattention/lack of focus (ADHD), Depression, Trauma/Stress (PTSD), Obsession/compulsion (OCD), Bipolar Disorder, and other mental health conditions that negatively impact academic progress. I look forward to meeting you and discussing treatment options aimed towards recovery and ultimate stability.
After receiving invaluable warmth & empathy during my own experience of therapy I felt obliged to give others the same compassion. I use my training as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, Registered Yoga Teacher, & EMDR Therapist along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to facilitate the healing of wounds inflicted by both acute and complex trauma. I use an eclectic & collaborative approach rooted in attachment theory along with IFS-informed parts work to assist people struggling with issues from anxiety & PTSD to Bipolar Disorder & neurodivergence with the goal of shifting a client's perspective from one of survival to one of well being. I also provide counseling services to children & adolescents by drawing upon the experiences I gained working as a school counselor in Greene County Georgia. When not cultivating my therapy practice I enjoy gardening, yoga, playing with my dog Walter, music, movies, horses, & laughing.
OMG! This college thing is HARD - everything from the application process, to balancing all my assignments and social life and different professors and roommates and my parents (and...!), to figuring out the best major and then actually trying to get a job applying what I've learned. Feel familiar? If the stress, anxiety, worry, and decisions you're juggling are overwhelming you and you are not functioning at your best level, maybe it's time to check out some other ways of managing all that's going on. In a very relaxed and safe space, you can meet with someone whose many years of professional experience guiding students through their major transitions are shared in a comfortable living room decor where jeans are the dress code. We will work as partners to discover and expand your strengths and resources so that you can move in the direction you want to go. And you will come to understand that "therapy" is not about fixing something that's broken but developing the strategies to make the most of what's within and around you. Hope to see you soon!

My curiosity about substance abuse and family systems sparked my interest in this field, leading me to study substance abuse counseling, which eventually deepened my passion for psychology. Over the years, I’ve worked in Connecticut alongside DCF and the court systems. Since starting as a case manager in 1995, I’ve continued to grow and gain valuable experience in this ever-evolving field of psychology. I currently practice in both CT and GA (lic in both) Also offer ADHD testing
