Therapists for college students near 80309
Hello! I am a clinical psychologist specializing in supporting individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves, how they relate to others and all of life. My style is warm, active, and genuine. I strongly believe in the importance of building an authentic and trusting relationship for therapy to be effective. I work from a relational framework, also drawing from my training in attachment theory, mindfulness, third-wave cognitive-behavioral (ACT, DBT) and interpersonal therapies. My approach is always grounded in compassion and curiosity for how my clients experience themselves and the world. I am a California native and completed my graduate education through Stanford before moving to Colorado in 2020. I worked in university counseling for two years as a predoctoral intern and postdoctoral fellow at CU Boulder’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services and love working with students in my private practice. I address a wide range of concerns, most commonly including relationship difficulties, existential issues, anxiety, and depression. As a first-generation immigrant, I am particularly fascinated by the impact of culture on identity and relationships. While challenging at times, I believe therapy can be extremely rewarding and even fun – humor is healing, and I laugh with my clients often! I currently have in-person availability on Mondays and Tuesdays in Denver and throughout the week virtually.

Hello! My name is Jasmine Cepeda, LCSW. I am a psychotherapist licensed in New York, New Jersey, & Colorado, based in Brooklyn, NYC. I believe all human beings want to be seen, understood, and accepted. As a therapist, I offer a warm, safe, and patient space for such an experience. We all need someone to empower, validate, and actively listen to us in an empathic way, which is what I strive to do. With over a decade of clinical experience, my therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in helping individuals foster self-reflection and emotional expression. I guide clients through life transitions and help them process a diverse range of emotions, thoughts, traumas, and complex relationships that may cause distress. For instance, I assist clients in processing feelings such as worry, shame, guilt, fear, and sadness, while also facilitating acceptance, trust, hope, forgiveness, accountability, and a sense of enoughness. My practice is also trauma-informed, ensuring that the impacts of past traumas are validated and that safety and trust are established during the healing process. With an eclectic therapeutic approach, I tailor my services to each person's unique needs, employing three main modalities: Emotion Focused/ Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, & Mindfulness-based/Somatic-based Therapy. Please visit the Frequently Asked Questions section for additional details about these modalities. My approach is centered around helping clients develop self-esteem, authenticity, and emotional regulation skills through building a compassionate presence and mindful awareness. We focus on the present, while integrating the past and being courageously hopeful for the future, even if uncertain. Utilizing the virtual therapy platform Doxy, I provide accessible and convenient care without compromising quality. I am also the author of the books and guided journals: 12 Ways to Cope With Your Latina Mom & Her Difficulties and 12 Ways to Cope With Your Latino Dad & His Difficulties, available on amazon or through direct purchase. Outside of therapy, my interest includes yoga, meditation, and cooking! Lastly, as a native New Yorker and first-generation Latina, with a background in social work, I approach therapy through an anti-oppressive lens. I invite you to reach out and make an appointment. I have been working in the field since 2013 and from my experience working in hospital and residential treatment centers, I became interested in addressing trauma. Trauma can come in many forms, has an impact on all of our systems. Trauma is on a continuum of stress and includes severe stress as well as stress over an extensive period of time. Sometimes, we're not aware of this and it can show up as anxiety. I offer EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Hypnotherapy. Life has a way of showing us where our work is and I am honored to have been a part of many people's recovery.

Working as an independent provider giving psychiatric care from my office, White Hart PMH, I help students who struggle with depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder and provide understanding of the progression and management of these conditions improving the overall quality of personal, academic, and professional life by bringing together physiologic (medications management), psychologic (psychotherapy support, cognitive processes, mindfulness), and lifestyle (nutrition as medicine, physical activity strategies). I find working with college students and young adults very rewarding recognizing I was once in the same place as you. I understand how challenging it can be to maintain the demands of college especially true when coping with depression, anxiety, and cognitive performance issues. These experiences lead to feeling overwhelmed and make keeping up with schoolwork difficult. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, and performance issues, an assessment and an individualized treatment plan can help.

Deciding to seek therapy can be a hard step to take because it means facing your problems rather than running away from them. When we experience uncomfortable emotions, our instinct a lot of the time is to avoid it and convince ourselves (as well as others) that we're okay. This may lead to short-term relief, however, we often don't realize that it also leads to long-term growth of the issue. This is one way we end up in vicious cycles of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem (which is difficult enough to deal with on top of college adjustments). My goal is to assist individuals with breaking this cycle by gaining new perspectives on their life situations and in turn empowering them to achieve their personal goals. If you're ready to take the first step toward a brighter future, I would be honored to work with you.
I offer a place for you to come exactly as you are. A time to step away from outside distractions – and release judgment. Together, we will foster a space of openness, warmth, compassion and creativity. We all have important stories. Sharing your story and your feelings can bring clarity, relief, and self-understanding.

Hi! If you're carrying a story that feels too heavy, too painful, or perhaps too fragmented to tell, I offer a supportive space to help you reclaim the parts of your story that have been buried, silenced, or distorted by trauma. Together, we will work to gently untangle your story, reconnect with your inner strength, and move toward lasting relief and empowerment. You deserve to feel safe, grounded, and whole. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and respectful of your pace. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about honoring the parts of you that adapted to survive and creating space for something new. Sometimes the first step in healing is telling your story. As a fellow artistic, compassionate human, I am here to hear your story and assist you in continuing along your journey in this life.
I have worked in college/university counseling centers for most of my career, and love serving both undergraduate and graduate students with a variety of mental health concerns.
About My Clients My clients bring their strengths, lived experiences, and wisdom to our therapy sessions every day. They bring resilience from the traumatic experiences they face and many of my clients bring and/or discuss the ways relationships impact their day to day lives. My Approach to Helping As a social worker, marriage and family therapist in training, and educator I value and center the wisdom that clients bring into the therapeutic conversation. My values also lie heavily in centering and validating the experiences of my clients from an inclusive perspective. My goal is to balance trusting the client to make the best decisions for themselves and create space for collaboration in the therapeutic process. Whether it is Individual, Couples Therapy, or Family Therapy, I believe that therapeutic interventions are tools that support the relationships, not replace them! Being a woman of color in the field of mental health guides and builds empathy in my work. I believe in creating a comfortable and supportive environment that encourages trust-building and playfulness when appropriate. I approach my work through meeting my clients where they are and creating customized clinical experiences based on the needs of my clients.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with weight loss and weight management. I provide an alternative strategy to weight loss based on cognitive therapy that allows people to change their life and their relationship with food, instead of just dieting. Treatment focuses on emotional eating, restructuring routines, and utilizing self-talk to help instead of sabotage. As a licensed personal training, I am also able to provide customized workout programs for clients to coincide with their weight management program. No more dieting! I also am a Certified Insomnia Treatment Clinician and offer 6-week online group treatment programs for insomnia! In addition, I specialize in working with individuals with self-esteem and anxiety issues as well as numerous other concerns, including body image, relationship issues, and parenting. I also have 2 post-graduate interns working with me that are able to offer lower cost options. Please email me or check out my website for all of the details on my different program offerings!
"I am falling apart on the inside. "This world wasn't built for me." "I am always overwhelmed all the time." "My best never feels good enough." If these thoughts have crossed your mind, I promise you aren’t alone. I hear you, and I want to help. I believe therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum — our lives are shaped by systems, cultures, and histories that can both support and harm us. In our work together, we’ll look not only at your personal experiences but also at the broader context you live in. My goal is to honor your identity, acknowledge the impact of oppression and marginalization, and create a space where all parts of you feel seen and valued. I draw from person-centered, narrative, existential, and ACT, IFS-informed parts work, and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) approaches, always centering you as the expert in your own life. Together, we’ll explore your story, build on your strengths, and work toward the changes that feel most meaningful to you.
