Joy Weigel, LPC
When meet with Joy, you'll be with an authentic, non-judgmental, and compassionate person who is committed to your well-being. You'll be invited to share your story and be respected for seeking to better understand the journey that's brought you to this point. Joy works together with her clients to overcome whatever life has thrown their way. She can help them to explore relationships, emotions, identity and purpose, and ways to navigate obstacles that are blocking their goals.
Using a combination of techniques like active listening, neuroscience-based interventions, and compassion, Joy helps her clients to gain insight into their situation and learn how to interpret their biological wiring. She can help them understand their mental health and explore their whole experience from the top down.
She primarily draws from evidence-based practices and body-based modalities, including psychodynamic exploration and evolutionary psychology. Joy earned a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in Illinois. When she's not working, she volunteers as a grief counselor, youth advocate, and restorative justice champion.
