James Mueser
Hi there! My name is James, and I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to helping you on your mental health journey. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or just trying to navigate the stress of being human, I’m here to provide support in a way that feels both authentic and effective.
I’ve spent years honing my skills, from working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic to treating adolescents and adults in various clinical settings. Along the way, I've gained valuable experience with therapy and medication management, always focused on what’s best for you as an individual. I understand that reaching out for help can feel daunting, but I believe in making that process as comfortable as possible. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered in our sessions together.
My approach blends CBT with humanistic therapy, focusing not just on the symptoms but on the whole person—you! We’ll work on reframing negative thoughts and embracing the parts of yourself that may feel out of place in a world that often demands conformity. I’ve seen firsthand how depression and anxiety can weigh you down, but I’ve also witnessed incredible transformations when people feel truly supported. I bring warmth, humor, and a genuine belief in your ability to heal and grow.
If you’re dealing with ADHD or ASD, I’m here to help you build on your strengths and manage challenges without losing your sense of self. For those dealing with trauma or PTSD, I offer a safe space to process and heal at your own pace.
I’m particularly effective in treating depression that feels “stuck” or resistant to typical treatments, and I love drawing on a variety of interests—from philosophy to art—to tailor therapy to what resonates with you. I always strive to help you reconnect with your innate strength and sense of purpose.
When I’m not working, I’m likely recharging with a good anime series, a video game, or some evening meditation. I also believe in the power of exercise to uplift mental health, so I might just encourage you to find your own way of moving that feels good.
Wherever you are right now, I want you to know that things can get better. The past doesn’t define your future, and each day is a new opportunity to build the life you want. I’m here to walk with you, and I believe in you. Let’s take that first step together.
